Six Flags Ghetto

Has anyone ever visited any park in France? This redefines line jumping and offensive clientele.
I have seen some shameless acting people at SFoG, some of them employees. An employee asked me for a light for his cigarette in line for a ride last year, & acted dissapointed when I didn't have one for him! Other, strange things happen there.

Lots of cops & guards walking around "off duty", a higher than average percentage of impatient people in a hurry, but even saying "the bad kids" come out after a certain time is insane. I have had people want to fight me there because I didn't like them jumping line right in front of me, tearing stuff down in the process, but rude people are just rude people. If somebody's in line making you scared:) for some reason(anywhere, any park), you wouldn't really be in that line, would you? If the kids are using harsh language, ask for respect, that's all it takes. If they continue to be offensive, they have NO RIGHT to hang out in public, & the park should be informed/do something about it, & if they don't it's their responsiblility to refund your admission so you can go home. Most these people, sad to say, don't act like that at home, it's when there's an audience, or you're just witness to their grandest performance(your lucky day!!!!). People have to LEARN how to act, not everybody knows how to. That ghetto stuff, though, that's thin, but I do hear people say that about SFoG.

p_c_r u obviously live in old times. The Park doesnt care as long as that person paid to get in.
Actually I got my definition from the dictionary (webster or no webster, an dictionary is a dictionary). Not trying to stir up a debate...but if you don't know I gotta set you str8. The definition you gave - " A large group of one type of people in a certain area
" is for a community, not a ghetto. BIG difference!

Sim Simma....who got the keys to ma Beema!!

We were in the line for MindBender at 9:45 one night, and a bunch of kids/teens/young adults had gathered in a big circle and were doing...um...inappropriate things, chanting and jumping up and down. I actually was kind of scary. We asked a security guard about it later, he said that the park officials usually just don't worry about it.

Ok, Hey everyone I'm new to the Buzz. Ok, my thing is ok wha exacting was so inappropiate about chanting and eveything you stated. It sounds to just some kids havng fun. What is scary about that? I am just wondering. The park officials said they don't worry about it. As long as the kids are not threathing bodily harm against another person then why should they worry.

Also for the post about being in line for Batman with some "gang-members", Like I said before, people are not going to rob in front of all those other people. How are you gonna assume that their gang-member, they are simply just some people trying to enjoy theirselves at the park.

Excuse my spelling, I meant what exactly is wrong with kids chanting and having a good time?

Um, you can not label SFoG a "ghetto" park without visiting the real Six Flags Ghetto chain, which includes SixFlags Ghettoworld (Astroworld) and SixFlags Ghettogardern (Elitch's Garden). Both IMHO look run down and are extremely dirty. SFoG is beautiful compared to these parks.

It is frustrating when people say the park that you work at (SFEG) is dirty. I have spent much time with my colleagues cleaning those queue lines at night, it is amazing what people can do in twelve hours. I have picked up so many cigarette butts and cups still full of soda it is crazy. I just know that we could show you a disgusting park if we didn't clean for a few days.

What can you expect from a park in Georgia? The ATL is a crazy-mad place to be!

LOL - but true!
I am a blackguy. I think you guys should just be open about it and not be scared. Six flags Georgia is ghetto cause it has tons of black folk. The Term ATL is in. everything black is like in ATL right now. The so called new harlem. ATL=atlanta. those black people in that circle chanting were most likely dancing or freestyling some lyrics and being LOUD. But I hope you guys are not confusing masses of black folk with gangs. Do not be scared, When black fold gather we get loud(a stereotype we give ourselves, we mostly joke about it but from time to time black folk in masses get louder that white people). Don't be frightened thinking the gangbanger(haha who even uses that word) are coming. I know the park has a higher gang attendence since ATL is the place right now, but is is not that ghetto. Alot of times police officers at our school events thing that big circle of black people is a fight waiting to happenn but really it is just freestyling rapping or poplock dancing. It is sad to say some white people are afraid of big groups of black people. But I am afraid of big groups of white people lol. Trust me I consider BGW white man park compared to PKD, no offense but I bet you consider six flags georgia Black man park.

Dont we black people call that a Battle limwarrior?
For the folks who dont understand what a battle is. A battle is instead of figthing we make up lyrics kind of rapping style and make fun of some one we dislike, or when not used instead of fight, just for plan fun.
Good post there limwarrior. I too have the same problem at my school, Us black kids gather in a group to just talk and sometimes be loud or make fun of the dumb skaters. And everyday the same White Security guard comes over and tells us to break it up, or to just stop and sit down. of course not in those words more like a yelling curse. One time he even held people back after lunch for nothing.
The word ghetto is so-- "ghettoish"
Antuan - They call the place full of white people "suburbs." I've lived in both, and can honestly say I find a suburb to be much more disturbing in it's own very strange way.

I would not consider ATL (ooh, I'm hip) or SFoG to be "ghetto." I think Atlanta is a really clean, beautiful city. Especially when compared to Chicago. SFoG is a great park with what I've found to be really great employees. But I roll with some "scary people" in ATL, so maybe I get special treatment...

And please, can we *all* just stop throwing "ghetto" around so much. Don't ask me why, but I have a feeling that about 95% of the people that have used "ghetto" as a descriptor really have no idea what exactly it is that they're implying.

Thanks Jay-Z...

Ok...to clear things up, here is the actual definition of "ghetto"...

http://dictionary.msn.com/find/entry.asp?refid=1861675181

As per your comment, Chris about Atlanta being cleaner thatr Chicago? I cannot accept that assertion. Granted - I am a Chicagoan - so go ahead and flame me for "protecting my home turf" but when I visited Atlanta last October on business, I thought the town was quite dirty. There were areas in the downtown office center areas that made a seasoned Chicagoan like myself nervous. The streets were covered in trash, numerous buildings covered in graffitti, and more homeless on the street than Chicago.

As far as SFoG being "ghetto" - I don't agree with that (see the above definition). But the area around the park is ghetto-ish. The park, in general was well-kept and well managed, but the crowds of youths (there were many groups of all ethnicities so I will no specifically label them) did seem to me to be "out of control" and I thought that security should have made them disperse as they were taking over whole midways making virtually impossible to pass. When I did try to make my way through them my way was blocked and they tried using physical intimidation to make me stop. Needless to say, I didnt take them too seriously as I am 6'4" and 250-260#.

Weird. Both times I visited last year I noticed that the downtown area was *significantly* more appealing to the eye than Chicago. And I'm in downtown Chicago every day. Oh well, throw that in the "beauty's in the eye" pile...

This topic is hilarious to me. An enthusiasts calling an amusement park a ghetto. That is so absurd. I'd bet you're just a rural or suburban raised person that has never seen a *real* ghetto.

As for the white/black folk thing. Don't be stereotypical. Black or white people in groups at an amusement park is really nothing to be so worried about IMO. I've noticed blacks know how to have a lot more fun than whites.

I keep hearing people call Six Flags over Georiga the "Six Flags Ghetto." Can anyone tell me why?

Because they're racists who cannot handle being in a park with an un-acceptable number of blacks in it!

PERIOD
