I keep hearing people call Six Flags over Georiga the "Six Flags Ghetto." Can anyone tell me why? I had a great time at this park, and I particularly enjoyed riding their two awesome woodies. Their collection of steel coasters is also quite good. The staff were not the best, but at the park was clean and food was not too expensive in comparison to some other parks. SFOG is one of the better Six Flags parks, and with the addition of the new B&M flying coaster for 2002 it can only get better.
IF their was a bad apple in the chain or a "Six Flags Ghetto", what park would you think it is?
Honestly, with no offense to SFAW fans, Astroworld is definentaly the Six Flags Ghetto. The park is poorly maintained and several of the coasters have flaking paint work and rust on the track. Flowerbeds have overgrown or died completely, and several ponds have dried up or become over ridden with green gunge. To add to this, the park has only seen one brand new coaster added in the last 10 years, and most of the other ones are rejects from other parks. Most of the time you find one train operation on all of their coasters (excluding Ultra Twister), and very slow and often incompetent staff operating them. The park was quite busy and to make matters worse there was a Fastlane system in operation that made the waits twice as long.

In regards to clientele, and not the park itself, the most ghetto park of them all has got to be SFMM. It looks like San Quentin and Folsom struck a deal with Six Flags to have field trips to the park every day.
SFoG as a park is just fine
But the guests and employees are where the ghetto description fits in. Have you ever been stuck in the Batman line warehouse with a bunch of gang members, with the overhead lights flickering? Yeah. Good times.
Heh. Six Flags Over Georgia has a great atmosphere!
Its only after night fall that the rowdy kids get there. We were in the line for MindBender at 9:45 one night, and a bunch of kids/teens/young adults had gathered in a big circle and were doing...um...inappropriate things, chanting and jumping up and down. I actually was kind of scary. We asked a security guard about it later, he said that the park officials usually just don't worry about it.
Ah well. SFoG is a great park, in the top five SF parks in my opinion. It just needs a good hyper.

The word ghetto means this
A large group of one type of people in a certain area. EG The Jews and the Ghettos in Poland, EG, Most inner urban areas have some ghettos.

First of all this post is not to bash any particular person who has SFMM as a home park. I'm referring to the clientele in general.
The park has rules regarding line jumping and I couldn't believe the amount of line jumping I saw, especially in Goliath's queue. People would pass you by along the perimeter of the queue line and hop in with their friends almost at the far end by the ride station.
Waiting in line for Riddler's Revenge for a night ride, the lights kept flickering on and off and some of the actions and language from other guests were less than desirable during our wait. It got so bad that I wanted to leave the line immediately but my friend and I were already in the loading station with a large group of people behind us.
I have never felt that way in a theme park before. But I wouldn't actually say SFMM is ghetto, that is not a term I would use.

Well, the way I see it.......As long as those "gang members" are just there enjoying the park like everyone else, they are staying out of trouble. I would much rather see gangs riding coasters for fun rather than out on the streets breaking car windows or mugging old ladies. Wouldn't you?

I have to disagree. There is a large group of causcasian ppl in my nieghborhood and its not called a ghetto. Usually the term is used to describe a large group of minority ppl living in an area that is run down!!
