Posted | Contributed by redman822

Six Flags and Frito-Lay announced a seven-year, multi-million dollar sponsorship agreement. Frito-Lay will utilize the benefits of the partnership to access the millions of consumers who attend the 28 Six Flags properties across the United States. Frito-Lay will sponsor a major thrill-ride attraction at each of the 15 branded Six Flags theme parks in the United States. Frito-Lay will also have in-park television, publishing, and Internet marketing rights on www.sixflags.com.

Does this mean that they'll rename the area for Raging Bull at SFGAm "Cool Ranch?"

This just in ... the new WoA hyper will be known as the "Dorito". The track and supports will be all orange with some yellow spots and the first hill will have a familiar triangular shape to it ...

How about a Swinging Ship ride called the "SCOOP"

Since FritoLay is owned by Pepsi, does that mean SF will be dumping Coke?

Hmm, that's a good question. Since this deal seems to be specific about the convenience foods division of Pepsi, I wouldn't think so - but you never know, that might be part of the deal somehow.

We've already lost one classic ride name at Astroworld, Bamboo Shoot which has been in the park 30+ years is now the Ozarka Splash. I shudder to think what's going to get the Fritos treatment.

I Immediately wondered the same thing about Pepsi. Seems it may be a conflict of interest. Go to eat and get a bag of Fritos and a glass of Coke. That just doesn't seem right.

I still think the most obvious sponsership tie-in with SFWoA would be Twizzlers: Ultimate Escape. Ride first, eat later.

When i went to SFNE monday all the had was pepsi. I didnt see coca cola anywere (unfortuanatly) since i like it a lot.

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone

It could be that the parks that are new to the Six Flags family had long standing agreements with Coke or Pepsi, and they will probably stand (possibly like SFNE having Pepsi). When they expire though, all bets are off. It may be whoever gives the best incentive.

Can you image the RC Cola Georgia Cylone or the Canada Dry Rapids Ride? Better yet, Superman's Icehouse Escape.

ok, all these jokes are getting realy lame. Please Stop!!!! But it would be cool to see a ride called The Tostito Terror, wouldnt it? (heh heh heh)

Beware, you may lose your glasses to THE BEAST!

Seems like I remember many "sponsored by" rides in the past. Like the Georgia Cyclone, seems like it was sponsored by someone. Hurler at PC, I remember Wayne trying to push Nuprin(yeah, Nuprin) on the masses. Can't remember any other examples.

I just wish Frito Lay would sponsor my auto, somebody, not just Frito I'll take anybody. I need it more than Six Flags. I can see myself driving around in the Honda Honda Civic;). Or maybe my Civic, brought to you by GMAC or something.
