Six Flags America or New England?

I live in Jersey and next summer (I know you're thinking "next summer, why is he posting in september?" Well it's Saturday night and I'm bored) two of my friends and I are most likely going to a Six Flags park other than Great Adventure for a road trip. I was wondering whats better, New England or America? I want to ride the so called best coaster in the world, but Roar!, Batwing and the other Superman look nice too. What should we do!?

Go to six flags america if u want to experice the best flyer and some good wood and a very good hyper, or go to SFNE for a floorless and the so called best hyper in the world.

Just decide what you want to do, coasters or park experience. i would go with SFA though.

This could quickly degenerate into a vs., but I'll try....

I would say SFNE. Neither park has anything that's completely different from anything at GAdv., although Roar and Batwing (I think) are significantly better than their counterparts. Wild One is also quite good. I think both S:RoS's are better than Nitro, but with the misters on at night, S:RoS SFNE beats the tar out or S:RoS SFA so much so that I would trade Roar, Batwing, Wild One, and S:RoS SFA for S:RoS SFNE. It's the best coaster in the world for a reason.

If you're focusing you trip based on one park only, I'd say SFNE since SROS is too amazing for words. There's something about floating over hills, then getting yanked down them. Plus, Lake Compounce is right down the road and Boulderdash is phenomenal as well. This would make for a nice weekend (or 2-day trip since SFNE should be avoided on weekends).

However, if you're going to take a longer, multiple trip, You could go to SFA, PKD, BGW, Hershey, and even more since there are more, larger parks to the south of you.

I will say, that despite SROS being the best coaster I've ridden, SFNE is the worst park I've ever been to. Lower your expectations to below that of a local fair, and you'll be presently surprised.

Batwing the best flyer? HAHAHAHA. That's a good one.

All of you just talk about S:ROS. There's more than that at Six Flags New England. Thunderbolt is a very underrated coaster. It's a great ride in a small space, and you get some ejector airtime. The same for Cyclone except it's bigger and rougher. They might not compare to Roar or Wild One, but they are still pretty good. B:DK is a nice, small floorless that is very good looking, and they you have Flashback and Mind Eraser. Also, SFNE has a rather decent collection of flat rides, too, and the tower ride Scream! gives a good ride plus an awesome view of the whole park.

Its not like either is that far away. You really can't do both?

Anyways, I'll offer a differing opinion - driving all the way up to New England to ride Superman is probably a good idea, but you will be going right by Lake Compounce. If for some reason you really don't want to do SFNE and Lake Compounce on this trip (and really, I can't think of a reason why) then head to SFA and save the trip to New England when you can do both parks (and maybe even Quassy.)

Personally, I would be more inclined to go to Compounce and skip SFNE if I had to go to only one.

I was AMAZED at Thunderbolt. I lost my stomach on every drop and it was only like 60 feet tall.

Six Flags Darien Lake Mania! Your #1 source for DL and other parks!

Where in NJ are you? I go to Six Flags America and I live in Burlington County. 40 minutes from SFGAV. I never been to Six Flags New England but Six Flags America has some good rides and Superman is with out a doubt awesome.

Go to SFNE..Having been to both, I liked SFNE far more than SFA. I think SFNE is the cleanest amd the best themed of all the SF parks. SROS: is by far the 2nd best hyper in the world. BDK is a great compact floorless coaster. Cyclone is a pretty decent woodie.Thunderbolt is nice as well. There are awsome flats like...Buzzsaw and Night Wing. There is also Scream(S&S drop tower). They also have pretty good park food!

If you go to SFNE you will have a good time.

I'm just curious. What hyper do you think is better than S:RoS? The only coaster I can think of is MF but that's not a hyper.

Well I can't do both SFNE and SFA becasue it would be one of our dads that would take us, so they might not have time. But we could probably do the Lake Compounce and SFNE same trip idea. Also, Chrashmando, I live in Union County, about an hour-hour and a half from Great Adventure.

I also live in New Jersey, about an hour and 15 minutes from Great Adventure in Passaic County. I haven't taken the trip to SFA yet, but I did go to both Lake Compounce and SFNE for the first time this year. Here's what I think:

SFNE is an amazing park in a fairly compact package. If you're going strictly for coasters, it's very easy to reach them all as most of them fall into a ring that goes from the entrance around to DC Super Hero land, up towards Hurricane Harbor, and then back through Rockville. In all of these areas are also some excellent flats, and someone has already correctly mentioned that Scream is one of the finest towers out there. If you're into the full experience, water park included, you'll probably need at least a whole day to do that.

Then there's Lake Compounce. The park is significantly smaller, built around the Wildcat woodie right in the middle, but packs a surprising punch if you have an open mind. They have a nice waterpark along the lake right to the left, several good flats like Ghost Hunt, and two excellent coasters, the Wildcat and the Zoomerang (your standard Vekoma boomerang, but hey, I like 'em). I say two "excellent" coasters because the other one, Boulder Dash, simply defies adjectives. I rode it four times while I was there and consider it not only the best woodie I've ridden (surpassing the Cyclone in my mind) but also one of the fastest, wildest, and most downright scary rides I've ever experienced. It may sound ridiculous if you've never been on it, but you could very easily make an entire day out of reriding Boulder Dash -- and if my friend and I had had more time, we would've just kept lapping it. Believe the hype. It's that good.

So depending on what your taste is, you probably could do both parks in one day, though I'd probably suggest making a weekend out of it. SFNE is about two and a half hours from my house, and Lake Compounce is about two hours. If it's feasible, drive to SFNE on Saturday, find a place to stay overnight, and do Compounce on Sunday. You definitely won't regret it.

Where in Union County? I live in Westfield. And was your old sn Knicksfan006. I think I would know you then.

My guess is just do SFNE because most of our rides at SFA are just average at best, the only thing SFNE doesn't have however is a flyer which is something that SFA does have over SFNE.

Well when SFWOA builds their Hyper it will be #1...just kidding.I for got MF was called a "Giga" coaster. You know what i meant!

Zalarr, I live in New Providence, but I go to westfield all the time since my best friend lives in Scotch Plains. this has always been my SN so you wouldnt know me.
If you like hypers, go to SFNE, where the best S:ROS is.

If you like flyers, go to SFA. (I guess that's kind of obvious)

If you like wood, go to SFA, because of the air on Wild One and the tight turns on Roar.

And if you love Vekoma coasters, SFA has 3 when SFNE only has 2!

Wild One, Roar, S:RoS, Jokers Jinx, and Batwing are all excellent (S:RoS, Wild One, Roar) or very good (JJ, Batwing) coasters.

I haven't been to SFNE so I can't really tell ya, but SFA has some spectacular rides, you will not be wronged going there at all.

If I was part of a coaster, I would be an upstop pad on an Arrow Mine Train.
