Six Flags 2004 plans

Well , I think it sucks what SFOG is getting , but they needed that stuff too. Here's hoping for 2005!

Agreed. Hopefully the "and more" part of that statement will bring something that guests other than small children will want to ride.

I`d love to see SF take out the Wildkitty at FC and get a new or an updated family coaster... That ride is soo rough that a few of kids (including my own) got off of it and and said that they didn`t like it...I doubt that`ll happen in the future...

Hmm... I wonder if there's any coasters in storage & some other rides just gathering dust in the boneyards of other parks that can be resserected (sp) and installed at other parks lacking any expansion plans.

It's cheap for the park & great for business... and clears up a lotta clutter, that's for sure (how much can a paint job & new body parts cost vs. a whole new ride?)

Six Flags is cheap...
...but to keep from boning other parks, they could afford to do this. Hell, Shockwave has to go somewhere, right? Isn't there a coaster called Excalibur also in storage somewhere that was a part of Six Flags

Those rides do a lot to a park when it comes to making them seem more "family-oriented".

Unless, or course, it involves removing the train.

I agree. Instead of just sitting in the GRAVEYARD collecting dust(and rust), they could be in good use today...

Well SFStL has Skyscreamer from SFAW, and I believe two other rides in their boneyard -- no reason why they couldn't give them to some other park.

Well look at FC, they haven`t gotten a coaster at all since 1993, and that was relocated from SFGAdv where it did run as Lightning Loops.

RE: SFoG....the mini-mine train was picked up expressly for ME....You are all welcome to ride it, provided that I get to it FIRST...;)

The ProSlide Tornado is going to WW in Atlanta, which is NOT connected to the park....it is a separate waterpark.

The kids area at oG was pretty small and confined, I'm *hoping* that they'll spread the kiddie rides out a bit, maybe towards Gotham where there's nothing for the wee ones to do.

What other park besides SFoG is getting the mini-mine train???
Excalibur was damaged when it was removed from SFAW...hence the reason why FC never actually put it up for operation, but at least your half of Lightnin loops is still up & running while SFA's is collecting rust behind Batwing.

There are a few rides that could possibly be relocated from other parks this year:Python & what's left of sky escaper at SFA,SW from SFGRAM,as well as Ameri-go round & Jumpin jack flash from SFGRADV just to name a few...BTW where the heck is that thing going?

Sure they're removing it but they havn't said just yet wether it's gonna be scrapped or shipped off to another park yet.

Yea and it runs rough all the time.
Could somebody post a link that shows what the Intamin Half-Pipe coaster is? I checked their website but couldn't find it. Anyone have any pictures as well?
How much longer will SFDL have to go year after year without a new coaster. It's going on five years since S:ROS and SFEG has managed two coasters in a landlocked setting!

I dont want to seem like a whiner so i think i'll join Dawgbyte in the corner and sulk a little........

Your Park only has 1 good coaster! That's too bad!

Can someone tell me how similar and/or different the half-pipe is from the long-rumored "Hammerhead Stall" from Vekoma. Judging merely from the pics of the half-pipe, I tend to think of them as being virtually identical. Sadly, all references to the Orlando Sheraton coasters seem to have been removed from rcdb (due to the fact that they never happened I guess, LOL).

Thanks for any help!

I might be wrong but I was under the impression that the Hammerhead Stall from Vekoma was another name for their tilt coaster. If so, that's quite a big difference in the two.

Rampage...to the best of my knowledge, HS was a shuttle coaster in the shape of a 'U' which had seats that reversed orientation at the top of the track.

From the appearance alone, it seems to me that the main difference is in the seating *configuration*, but there could very easily be other differences as well....

Gravity Max, the Vekoma tilt coaster, that HAS been built, looks like a lot of fun to me, but is almost definitely a different concept.

The difference between Vekoma's Hammerhead Stall and Intamin's Half Pipe is this:

IHP - think of it like a giant Zamperla Disk-O. The two pods of seats rotate as the car slides back and forth along the track.

VHS - cars would face the direction of travel. As they "stalled" at one of the ends of the "u" and reversed the car would turn 180* so riders were then facing the direction of travel [facing straight down]. Once the car reached the other end of the "u" the car would turn 180* again...and so forth.

Got it? ;)

That's EXACTLY what I thought Moosh....thanks! :)

I still want to try a HS....even if I have to travel further than Orlando to ride one...;)

Yeah, I believe the HS coaster was set up to mimmick a stunt plane. It launches up to its peak (in the shape of a U, about 150 or so ft) and then slowly turns 180 degrees and dives back down to the ground, much like a stunt plane does. I think the Halfpipe coaster is similar in design, but different in concept.

I personally would love to see one of the HS coasters come to life; they look awesome and take up little space.

(the fact thats its a vekoma is a bit scary though)
