Silly names for rollercoasters

"See, I used to get pissed when people wouldn't like the name (Cornball Express)...then I realised that everyone has their opinion and doesn't understand that the name's Indiana Beach chooses tries to go along with their Indiana theme (i.e. Hoosier Hurricane, Cornball Express, etc). I do agree, the name is silly, but do names for coasters have to be dead serious? Theme parks are suppose to be fun and perky :)"

I knew if I waited long enough someone would get angry. Sorry. I apologize.

But I still dont' like the name

yeah, that Cornball Xpress ones pretty bad to!!

Cornball express takes the cake. S:TE & S:UE are pretty bad (I mean really, what is Superman escaping from). I dont know why S:KC wasnt just Krypton Coaster. B:TR could have been just Batman, it's obvious it's a ride. Hi-speed-thrill-coaster is pretty lame. Millennium Force: did we need more y2k stuff (SD2k falls here too). Oh and Boss has nothing supporting around it. It doesnt fit the coaster, it doesnt fit the area, it doesnt even fit the park it's in. It's just a word plucked seemingly out of nowhere. I think just plain 'Coaster' would have been better!

DJ play my mutha(bleepin) song!
It all depends but i think rides named after what they do like Boomerang, corksecrew, ect. and rollercaoster for a name but Cornball express i s dumb to

-------------
Cedar Point, doesn't get any better then that:)
CORNBALL EXPRESS in no longer a name to be laughed at. I just rode it and it gives RAVEN a run for it's money. No crazy Indiana farmers here. just pure CCI laterals and body-jarring air!

I think X and X-Flight aren't well thought up names. Like a last minute decision, Don't ya think?

"I think Batman is a cool name for a coaster but six flags has really worn the name out, any SF park that gets a B&M inverted immediately names it Batman, wheres the originality?"

Acually, it doesn't even have to be B&M. SF Mexico got a Vekoma SCL and what was it named? You guessed it! Batman: The Ride.

Also, what is Superman escaping from on S:TE? I thought the ride launches from the fortress of solitude or whatever it's called. I was unaware that it tries to keep Superman there against his will.

Cyclops. 1900 feet of CCI goodness. *** This post was edited by TrBiggar on 6/27/2001. ***
i would have to say.....corkscrew. thats the lamest name ever!!! i know the rides "highlight" is a corkscrew, but come on!!! that name just doesnt seem scary, even back then it didnt even seem to pump up guests.

Superman: The ultimate escape is the most rediculus corny name ever!!!! V2 is such a way better name for an impulse. You've got 2 representing the two towers, you've got vertical meaning they are both vertical and velocity for the launch sensation. "superman: the ultimate escape" is such a horrable name!

"who needs drugs when you have coasters...they're like a natural high"
Cornball=corny that was the idea, as in He had a real cornball idea as in it was silly. It is meant to be fun and frivolous. And that helix is far from cornball!!

Hey Bruce, it's Volcano the Blast Coaster! Sounds much better doesn't it? Well, it does have an artificial Volcano blast, so you can't argue that the name is too bad.
anything -jr.
Montezooma's Revenge is a good name but it makes no sense except for the "zooma" part
Do you know who Montezooma was?
Montezuma was an Aztec ruler circa 1500. He and his people were conquered by the Spaniards, and in 1520, the Aztecs revolted. The Spanish coerced Montezuma into calming his people down......they stoned him to death.

....so, what's HIS revenge.

Isn't Montezooma's Revenge a disease also? I think they spelled it Monte"zoomas" Revenge diliberately. It's kind of cool :).

AKA V2 at CCN! AKA SFMWManiac at SFMWOnline!
I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I always thought "Montezuma's Revenge" came from drinking the water in Mexico or something...

Log Jammer never sat right.

(My little brother always calls Gotham Gearworks Gotham Neckworks. Or Armworks. Also disturbing.)
