Shooting video on coasters

It's all the same thing in the end. There's a right way and a wrong way to do things. The underlying theme here is that the people who are actually doing something within the community are those that play within the system.

There's a snowball effect. The more you earn the trust and prove responsibility, the more doors that open. The more you try to skirt the system, the more you're forced to keep being underhanded because those doors shut in your face just as quickly.

It's really not that hard (for the umpteeth time :) ) - these parks can shut every last one of us out if they want. It's cute to say you're helping the park by 'promoting' their product, but I have a feeling they'd be fine without all of us. It's people who do stuff like unauthorized POV's and sneaking on-ride crap that make it harder for everyone involved.

I enjoy visiting CoasterBuzz. I dig working on my own site. I blow way too much time looking at all the great sites everyone here (and across the net) has taken the time to share. Why ruin that in any capacity? Don't bite the hand that feeds.

I'll change my nick to "Black Mamba Fan" soon - but Phantasialand obviously plans the ultimate coup in that respect - instead of On-Ride-Photos, they are right now preparing a service that videotapes everybody screaming away on the coaster, so that you can buy your own trip later on a DVD to take home.

They have them on Top Gun At Canada's Wonderland.

No idea how the ACE calendar works, but Moosh went through all the hoops, pressed every button, crossed every 'T' and dotted every...ummm...lower case 'J' to work with the parks and get their full cooperation and blessing on those calendars. That I can assure you.

We do the same.

I won't publish "new" POV photos in Timber Tales unless I have proof that the POV photos were taken will complete approval of the park. As for older shots (like coasters that no longer exist), I bend the rules because they were taken before this became a hot topic.
