Shockwave leaving Six Flags Great America, headed elsewhere

Six Flags Great America announced yesterday that Shockwave would be dismantled and sent elsewhere to make room for their 2003 attraction. Shockwave was chosen to take the fall after public outcry forced them reconsider the removal of Whizzer.

According to posts in the CoasterBuzz forums, B&M track has arrived at the park and sits waiting in the employee parking lot. The most popular rumor is that the track is for a flying coaster.

I am boycotting Great America for doing this. I usually only go once a year anyway. It's really a waste of 40 bucks every year. The magic has been gone from that place for quite awhile now. It used to be a great place when I was a kid, but the management has definitely sucked the greatness out of the park. With Shockwave(my favorite ride) gone, I have no reason to go there now. That was the only reason I payed that much to get in. If they lower there price at least $20 and get new management, I might return.

P.S. - the only people that complained were the pussies that don't like a real hard assed coaster. They would rather keep a bunch of gay water and carnival rides. Get rid of that crap!
