I'm thinking more along the lines of a park that a family can drive to within an hour or two of their house and return in the same day. No lodging involved, especially on-site resort lodging. I really can't imagine somewhat local people saving up for months to go to say, Dorney Park or just about any SF park. Or for that matter, planning to go months in advance.
Yeah, I guess you had to be there. Same ad agency that had the kid running in slow motion, "Chariots of Fire" music going, kid unloads his lunch into a garbage can, V/O proclaims, "Another satisfied customer."
Vic_SFKK, I agree, the Himalaya is a great ride. It's just that that particular Himalaya is not. :)
Lord Gonchar, I wondered why there seemed to be a bottle missing... :)

Thanks for the description of what it actually is though :)
Chuck
1) Hotel accomidations for a week.
2) Park tickets for a week.
3) Transportation all week to and from the parks.
4) All meals and snacks,(except breakfast).
5) And 4 lanyerds(sp).
Now remember there was 4 of us....that come to about $375 a person. Not a bad deal.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

(never understood the lanyard thing...)

I guess I kind of agree....people love Himalaya, but it would be nice to have one that went backwards!
Im afraid your gonna see less flying bobs and himalayas running both cycles.

Hey, what's with that, anyway? What's with all the people running around at WDW with lanyards 'round their necks, just looking for a place to get tangled up in a piece of machinery...?--Dave Althoff, Jr.
(never understood the lanyard thing...)
They're not just lanyards, they're breakaway lanyards. That way if they get caught in something, the wearer doesn't choke.
Dave Dragon, go Dave Dragon, and the Star Force Five!

Speaking of which. I seen in person the reason many of these rides don't operate both forward and backward. At IB, while the ride was slowing to a stop to start its backwards portion of it's cycle. A person got out while the ride was still moving, thinking it was over. The operator announced to remain seated, Still obviously English wasn't in his vocabulary. That or he was deaf.Im afraid your gonna see less flying bobs and himalayas running both cycles.
At SFKK there is a kiddie ferris wheel that is like that. You run it both counter clockwise and clockwise, and the operator has to be careful the kids don't try to climb out mid-cycle.

Remember the pre-Premier advertisements for Six Flags (I'm talking the "Bigger, Faster, Closer" days) that showed the difference between Disneyland and Six Flags from the dog's point of view? On the Disneyland side the dog was sitting in a kennel. On the Six Flags side, the dog was chasing his tail in the back yard.
