SFNO's Batman being dismantled

^ And that is the reason why it wouldn't go to SFDK,which is the same reason why SFA won't get it....although thanks to the SFDL sale they might be able to pick up B:TE for the 08 season from what I heard.

It makes no sense to take down a perfectly good SLC only to replace it with another coaster of the same type & with WW/EV in Seattle having been sold I guess that narrows it down to SFFT as a recipient for the ride in 2009/2010.

BTW ilovethewildone word has it that TSC might reopen for 07 with some modifications but if that's true I just hope they're working on it now as I'd hate to see WO & Roar closed down for the season while the extensive mods are being made.

perfectly good SLC

There's an oxymoron statement if I have ever heard one.

Ok, I guess I'm missing something here. Why are you refering to Six Flags Marine World as SFDK.

And what is TSC?

Sorry if this was more apparent in previous pages, but I don't have the time to read the whole thread.

^SFMW is being renamed...Discovery Kingdom.

Guess I'll NEVER get to visit Marine World...LOL! ;)

TSC is Typhoon SeaCoaster....REALLY cool flume ride, REALLY poor execution. Zero capacity (almost upcharge bad, LOL). Maintenance and staffing nightmare. Going bye-bye, and soon. MIGHT live thru '07.

If Batman were replacing ANY SLC in the chain, it would go to Six Flags New England. That's the biggest park in the chain with an SLC, period. Of course, Fiesta Texas and Great Escape could also get it, as they don't have any invert, but I can't realistically see any other park than these three parks getting Batman. And SFA is out, in my oppinion, since the SLC there is a little nicer (it's in a good position in the park, and I would rather see that park get a spinner or roller skater than an invert).

Six Flags America, and Six Flags New England are higher up there parks in the chain as in attendance. The 5 big parks are above those. If you are Six Flags, and you want to make those more popular, you would add a ride to one of those. I don't really agree though. I think a park like Great Escape, Six Flags St. Louis (I know they have one already. I'm talking in general.), or Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom need help more.

Has it occured to anyone that maybe they'll sell Batman?

Well in a Press Release about the Sale of the 7 Parks, Six Flags said that they are still having not decided what they are going to do with SFNO.

Quote from Article: "Goldberg said the company still is exploring its option on its Six Flags New Orleans,..."

^Isn't SFI supposed to have a conference call in regards to the sale sometime today? Word has it that with the sale of SFDL they may be relocating the standup from SFAW somewhere within the chain.
In the call, they said they are going to put it up in 2008 (or "next year"). They didn't say they will sell it. They will market it as new.

^ Hopes you're referring to the invert....that stand-up would make someone a couple hundred nice car bumpers....or better yet, bumper cars! ;)
^^Did they say it will be put back up at SFNO or another park in the chain?
Wouldn't it make the most sense to place Batman at TGE and market it as new? Or am I missing something?
I would love to see it end up there (its my home park). TGE could definitely use it and its better then the SLC they have in pieces there now. But I don't think it will happen because the people around the park would complain about it, that it will cause to much noise. Witch really makes me mad, But that's another topic.
Considering that they are going to market it as new, it's going to go somewhere else. They said at one of there Six Flags properties. They can't market the ride as new at Six Flags New Orleans. People knew it was there already. Yes, I'm talking about Batman the Ride at SFNO. *** Edited 1/13/2007 4:47:14 PM UTC by Ilovthevu'***
Well then it has to be SFFT,as like I said before it makes no sense to remove one invert<a vekoma> for another<a B&M> from a marketing standpoint.

The most logical sense to make from this is:
I can See SFNO's Batman going to SFFT in 2008.

I see Serial Thriller going in at Six Flags Great Escape in 2008

I see T2 staying and beating the hell out of it's guests.

I am wondering if Batman the Ride is staying in New Orleans because when I went there and took pictures all the structual stuff was gone and the trains were just sitting there.

Bolliger/Mabillard for President in '08 NOT Dinn/Summers

It was mentioned somewhere (probably this thread.. lol) that it's possible it could be sold somewhere non-SFI, and that park may be getting new trains for the ride. Hence, they wouldn't need the trains at the new park. Further, SFI would be able to use the trains on another coaster and/or as parts for other parks in the chain... however, there's no sense in moving them until they have to.

That's what I see happening too. SFFT seems to be making strides...couldn't happen to a nicer park... :)

Sorry to all the people who *have* SLCs, but this IS the most likely scenario...
