SFKK 2003 addition update

I look at it this way, its alot easier to sell brand new clothes to customers, rather than selling old used clothes with holes in them both being the same price. I know that the season pass price has been raised so it better be something "new" or they have definatly lost another customer.

But you can't look at it that way. While Viper is an older, used (not a bad ride though) coaster, it would still be new to SFKK and would still draw some customers.

Personally, I would rather have Viper...but that's coming from a huge Schwarzkopf fan.

Im just glad that "something" is going on at SFKK.

Hey everyone,

I was at SFKK today and saw all the stakes in the ground. Most of them around the car area are labeled "station" and there are one set of stakes or possibly two (I can't remember) behind the station that are labeled "footer"on them. I have a hard time believing that SFKK would actually get an impulse, but I really think based on what I saw today that an impulse is coming. I think that the vertical spike will set next to the bridge, and the front twisting spike will set behind the Sky Coaster (which is 185' tall). The reason I say this is because there seem to be only one or two sets of footers behind the station area, which would lead me to believe that its going to be the spike, plus I can't see the spike behind the station on Viper as fitting in there since its at an angle. Then again, who knows? This could be anything, but it was nice at least to see that the stakes were labeled "station" and "footer"!

It would have to be something that didn't take alot of time to put up, since they have only the stakes in the ground and no footers! If I'm not mistaken, most parks like to have a new attraction up by opening day. SFKK usually opens up the last week of March! Just a thought.
They should have no trouble completing an impulse in 5 months, especially with the winters being relatively mild in Louisville. But remember, this is Kentucky Kingdom. Thunder Run, Twisted Sisters and Blizzard River all opened mid-season. Hellevator opened in October. So, really, with them it could open any time.

I just recently found out from a friend, that works there that they will indeed be getting Viper. I guess that i'll have to make PKI my home park. This just really bugs me that after waiting for a FREE attraction for almost 4 years now, and we hand me down rollercoaster, thats like over 10 years old with many mechanical problems. This really sucks. And anybody who's got something to say about me complaining about my crappy homepark should shut-up unless yours is worse!!!

Wow all CP got last year was a brand new ride with many mechanical and structual problems that wasn't open half the time. (Sarcasm Off)

If KK gets Viper/Tidal Wave my butt is there openeing day.

Yeah, its too bad they didn't call you up and personally ask you what you wanted them to build.

I'm assuming that you've never ridden a shuttle looper, but it sounds like you've already made up your mind about it anyways. If it is indeed Viper coming to SFKK, its too bad that a hell of a lot of people are going to be having a blast on it without you. :)

My homepark is Wyandot Lake. Believe me, you don't have it "that" bad.

Mine is Fun Spot, don't even start. They have a Zyklon that tries to kill people.

They d have two saving graces however, a wonderful Arrow shuttle loop and a nice set of fliers, if only they slowed them down.

Sounds like another case of someone's 10-year old hand-me-down is somebody else's 24-year old Schwarzkopf classic! Err...whatever that means. If this news is indeed true, I might just have to add SFKK to the list of parks to visit next season! It certainly wouldn't be on that list if an Impulse was the new addition. Who knows, maybe in 20-some-odd years I'll be upset when there's only two operating Impulse coasters left in the States.

Perhaps Six Flags took note to the outcry to save Whizzer. Now they want to save Viper.
Brent,

If Viper strikes at SFKK, save me a spot on opening day.
