SFKK 2003 addition update

I'm all for an Impulse, but I'm not going to be picky. I'd love to see KK get anything at this point. That would give me the extra incentive I need to renew by season pass for yet another year (like I wouldn't have anyway :) )

Pinball and Coasters...Any Questions?

If I still lived about an hour away, I'd be gunnin' for Viper. I had too much fun last year at Knott's trying to keep my hands up during the loop on Monte.

I don't have any inside info but my hunch is that with a park an hour west seeing a huge 20% increase in attendance [and the likelyhood of another increase next year] that SF wants to try to take a bite out of its competition in Louisville.

I like SFKK, but I know where I'd rather be ;-)

No doubt Moosh.. I think said park's advertising push in the Louisville area put a hurt on SFKK's repeat business this past season. I think they are trying to steady the ship for 2003.

TR2k3....GET READY!

I agree with Robbec/o03. I know a lot of you want to see the beloved Viper go SOMEWHERE, but for those of us to whom SFKK is a home park, we'd like to see something really cool. I don't get to travel much so I'm pretty much stuck with the coasters that land nearby. I don't doubt at all that Anton's shuttles are great, but I'm really crossing my fingers for the impulse, or maybe even something else...

Seeing as there will probably be Impulses popping up everywhere in the next few years, let's save the few remaining Schwarzkopfs we can. I personally have never done an old shuttle, and they look like great fun! I have visited SFKK only 5 times in the last two years, for maybe a combined 12 hours, and I only live an hour away. The park needs something to get my attention, seeing as I am not one of their drop offs for babysitting. That crowd will always be there. Like others have said, just give us something! I do have to give them their due respect for keeping TR running well.

Does anyone have any pics?

Yeah my homepark is in Albany, NY but I always have 12 hours to go to The Point!

Everyone thinks it's going to be a coaster! What about a log flume ride???? About 5 years ago, that plus a mine train ride were going in the front part of the park! So it may not be a coaster???
Last time I looked a mine train was a type of coaster.

I heard SFKK is getting the Impulse originally scheduled for SFA....

Anton's Shuttle Loopers are a blast. I'd much rather have an old one of those than a shiny new Intamin Impulse.
Now if only Adventureland would get one....

hey Moosh, here's the container of sea salt, I'll hold him down while you pour it into the open wounds...;). Seriously, were you like the Marquis de Sade in a past life or something?

I guess I have mixed feelings. Where I would like a "brand new" coaster to ride such as an impulse, and would like the coaster credit, I have been on three of them already and have two about 2 hours from me. I think the Shuttle Loops are much better rides with better capacity.

I don't shun at the thought of a used ride, I never have. Im always happy to recieve "anything"

Here's an interesting thought: perhaps Holiday World caught wind that SF was adding a coaster to SFKK and planned a bigger expansion?

Nah...

Well, how about HW was planning the Shot Tower all along....(we won't say where THAT notion came from). Since their attendance jump was *so noticeable*, Will realized SF would try to make some sort of inroads into the growing enthusiast community there in Kentuckiana. Since Will is always "a step ahead", he decided to follow the "other suggestion" AS WELL......if they bump the flyers up a notch for us at SRM, I'm just gonna have to "pack up the plantation" (Tom Petty), and start calling my beverages "Pop"....

'Gator - from what I understand the doubleshot tower was the last ride they decided to purchase.

I may have to make Louisville my new home, and would love an impulse coaster right near it. Shuttle loops are fun, but there day in the sun is over, time to look into the future and get our fill of these new high tech rides that to tell you the truth are heck of a lot better! Shuttle loops make way too much noise anyway, aka viper at Sfog. I was at SFOG one of the last operating days of Viper and every ride op at viper was wearing ear plugs, plus it was down 90% of the day. That kind of ruins the ride experience
What? Schwarzkopf shuttle loopers make some of the coolest coaster noises ever.

-----------------
...

CCBoi, you've not ridden an Intamin Impulse coaster lately have you? They make some of the most *horrendous* noises in all of coasterdom. The screeching as the coaster is advanced backwards into the station is nerveracking. I've only ridden one Anton shuttle (Greesed Lightnin @ SFAW) but I dont recall a noise even in the same neighborhood as annoying as the Intamins.

But bottom line, either coaster would be a blast to ride. What I would *really* like to see is an impulse with a loop/front twisty spike/rear spike with holding brake ABOVE a twist. THAT would the greatest
