SFI s new coaster for 08

^That's what I heard but of course there won't really be much to announce just the same old parks getting new attractions with the others being left out.

Aside from a lack of cap ex attention for SFA operations have been terrible this year so I really doubt that I'll be heading back in 08.

^^I thought that date change was for Hershey's announcement? I think I remember reading somewhere that SFI's announcement was Oct 1st. Anywho, SFStL, SFFT, and some others will get coasters. Woo hoo, I'm on topic! :)

Ride count on the Voyage: 40 Most consecutive rides on the Voyage: 36 Day after thigh bruises from airtime: Priceless

Do you not even realize that this is pretty much what you say in almost every post you make? All you do is change the wording around. Give it a rest dude.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

^No Chitown...this season the operations have really been bad especially with that flashpass nonsense that happened back in june on two face along with the way they've been running it on superman as well.
^Oh brother!

I will agree SFA needs to add some new "dry" rides, I will agree ride operations aren't as good as other parks. However, they, as well as other areas of the park have improved this season.

A day at the park is what you make it!

Ajrides said:I think if you read it again it does not mention used coasters, it says NEW coasters.

As already mentioned "New" is "Used", and "Used" is "New". A good example would be Firehawk at King's Island. Everyone in the enthusiast community pretty much knew it was X-Flight at Geauga Lake, but for KI it was "New".

Now officially a Halloween Haunt Cornstalker for Fall '08! www.freewebs.com/chadmicah

*IF* SFGAm were to get a new coaster (and this hurts me in more ways than one to say it).... Vekoma kiddie invert.

I assume you are referring to the headbanging on the current ones? You might be pleased to know they have switched the restraints to lap bar only -- check it out! Both of the ones built this year (Jimmy Neutron's Atomic Flyer and Kvasten) feature these, and I am guessing that these are now standard for the Vekoma junior inverts.

I think it's pretty obvious that any coaster installation counts as "new" in the eyes of the amusement industry, regardless of whether the ride came fresh from the factory or from another location. SFNO didn't advertise a bunch of "used" coasters when the park was flagged, they advertised new coasters. The public doesn't care if Firehawk came from Geauga Lake, all they care is that it looks new and offers an experience that is new. And even if people realize it's the same experience as the one that used to be at GL, I doubt many put two-and-two together, probably thinking it's just the same type of ride and not the same ride.
Well, even though we have to wait about a week to hear the announcements... the 2008 Season Passes are available (at least at my Six Flags). They are sadly $10 more than they were this time last year... but $55 is still a steal. WOO.
^ The announcement for the 2008 capital expenditures was RUMORED to be for early October. It was never definite.
Chiller is being taken down carefully. Maybe its getting moved to another park? I bet another six flags park would love to have that coaster.
^And never get another coaster for 20 years because they are trying to maintain it?;)

Bolliger/Mabillard for President in '08 NOT Dinn/Summers

We are getting closer and closer to the announcement and I just keeep praying that SFKK gets ANY coaster(or ride), and even though I am over 50% sure we are going to get another Looney Tunes area, I just dream of riding something new in the park (since there hasn't been a new "dry" addition since 2003).....

If Great Adventure can't get the thing to work correctly since its opening in 1997, what makes you think the new owner will?

DantheCoasterman, do you not own swimtrunks? From what I've read, Deluge kicks a lot of ass, and that was a major addition this year.

This is for all you doubters who didnt believe SF was putting in New coasters not used ones. I just had to tell you I told you so,LOL

No one doubted anything. They are putting in "brand new" coasters and a "used but new to a park" coaster.

In conclusion, all are new to where they are going whether right off the assembly line or relocated.

Will the new Dark Knight rollercoasters be at all similar to the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster layout at WB Movie World in Australia.

The Scooby coaster had a vertical elevator lift, turntable, reverse drop and dark ride section?

^If the theming is half as good as this, then all I say, bring it on!

A day at the park is what you make it!

I keep looking through the list of new coasters at the Six Flags parks and I am only counting 7. I assumed that one coaster was just dropped as they can be from time to time. Now I listen to todays conference call and Mr. Shapiro kept talking about the addition of 8 coasters. What is it that I'm missing?

He only talked about 5, the tony hawks and the dark knights. Are they counting X?

All I can think of is:
1. TDK SFNE
2. TDK SFGAd
3. TDK SFGAm
4. THBS SFDK
5. THBS SFOT
6. Goliath SFFT
7. EK SFStL
8. ?????????
