SFGAM's Superman

Ok so no dual loading stations, no tunnel, "less intense pretzel loop" this thing is going to suxor! The dual loading/unloading was faster, the tunnel was exciting, the loop was the most airtime-filled thing on a flyer that I know of... I know i should "be happy to get a coaster" but sometimes people have to realize that some rides just are plain not good to some people.

Sounds like you've never rode it. The tunnel isn't exciting, for one--you don't even know it's there when you through it due to its short length and open dimensions. The pretzel is nice at SFOG, but who's saying the modified version won't be better?

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

If there even is a modified version of the pretzel loop! I think somebody just made that up.

Maybe someone didn't.

CoasterAddict, when did you ride this new coaster? Oh, that's right, it does not exist.

Uhh...anyone heard the rumor about SFGAm possibly getting a dueling flyer sort of like a superman vs. batman type thing. That would be cool seeing as how there will be a Superman Vs. Batman type movie coming out in the next year or so from what I hear.
BTW, did anyone see the S:UF video on gadv.com?
I did. I watched it when it came out like a month ago. btw, why don't we hope for original flyer designs before heading into the whole dueling category.

I haven't heard that one, but I heard that the movie was just going to be another Superman movie instead of Batman vs. Superman. So just a Superman coaster will be fine with me :)

I thought the tunnel at SFoG's *could* have been longer, and tighter in dimension, perhaps some lights, fog and theming...of course, I'm never *satisfied*, but I figure if you're spending many millions of dollars on a brand new coaster (first B&M flyer in the US, no less), go ahead and spend another 100-250K to make the ride *experience* complete. The tunnel *effect* would have improved, and the feeling of flight in an enclosed space would be GREATLY enhanced. It certainly would make it more "memorable", perhaps increase re-ridership, and sales of merchandise, which as we all know, turns into *free advertising* when we leave the park...maybe there IS a method to *all* this madness...;)

lol, okie:)

Yes, the dueling coasters would be very cool, but highly unlikely. Why is it when every new coaster is not officially announced yet, every1 always assumes ti is a dueling coaster. That really annoys me. And yes they are making a Batman vs. Superman movie, but all that is done so far is the scrpit, and i dont think that it is entirely done yet. So it will be a few years before we see that.

Well Bill, sounds easy enough in theory...

Honestly... the flyer may be the one type of coaster that doesn't benefit from tunnels... at least 'flat' tunnels, because all you can see is the ground anyway, you don't feel enclosed any more than you already are by the restraints. You can't see the tunnel till yer in it... it's just not the same!

I think having part of an element enclosed (say, part of a pretzel loop) would be much more exciting than just going through a tunnel face down.

just went by the park today, there is now a giant hill of dirt sitting in the construction zone off to the side. Guess we might be getting that landscaping after all.

I know this is mostlikley not real, but has anyone seen this SFGAM flyer layout? (scroll down a bit to see it)

http://www.executivedrivingservice.co.uk/usa.htm

Wow, some people are really spoiled. It's basically like saying, I am not riding it because it's not what I wanted. Jeez, get a life. Just enjoy what you have, not what you want.

The top 3 all time cobrarolls.

1)Raptor's
2)Deja Vu's (times 3)
3)Batman Knight Flight's

That layout looks fun, but I don't think it'll happen

If you scroll down a bit on the same page, they report that the flyer will be a clone. Don't get your hopes up in regards to that layout.

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.

Ummmmmm
That's a badnitrus fantasy layout. It's a clone.
That would be very cool to have...who knows that might be so coool to have. That looks so much better than the other layout.

The reason that I myself have been told from people that were at IAAPA talking to Claude and Walter, was that the Dual loading station didn't increase capacity to a point of where 2 stations were needed. So if you make the station a single load and unload station, you can also cut staffing in 1/2, and at a SF park, thats a good thing, then you can add another row and get even better capacity.

Then to top that off, Walter and Claude said at the S:UF Media Day, that the pretzel loop turned out different than how they wanted it, in otherwards, too intense, so they will probably rework it for the SUF at SFGAm and SFGAdv, to take probably atleast .5 g's off of the pretzel.

Oh, and also, just because a press release says 3 trains, doesn't always mean that. You know how many parks use the same press release for the same ride?

SFAW when Serial Thriller was announced, took SFWoA's press release and it said like 7 or 8 inversions, we all know a SLC doesn't have 8 inversions, so that just goes to prove that what the parks say in the press releases are not always true.
