Have you seen this? http://www.alternativegaming.net/~ck/gampix.htm ,and please next time if you have more then one question put them all in a single post.

edit:also has anyone else seen that surveyor mark near the shockwave onride photo counter? I remember seeing it through a link on CBuzz. That is some good evidence as to where the ride will be put.

It probably has, but noone has pictures. If someone did have pictures however, this topic probably would have 19 pages instead of 14.

No, of course SFGAm couldn't build a coaster to go over a six-lane freeway.

No, we probably will not get a new coaster in 2004 (per Six Flags conference call). In 2005, however...

I know. Im talking as a matter of legality. To my knowledge on the subject which I admit is not very extensive if they built it under 125 ft. they wouldnt be violating any zoning laws. So all they would need is a building permit. Of course sixflags would never attempt it. I'm just asking if they could get away with it.
SFGAm doesn't own the road or the land it's on, nor do they own a certain amount of footage on both sides of the freeway. So a roller coaster intruding on that land wouldn't be allowed, a building permit would *never* be issued, etc.

coasterdude318, I-94 is only four lanes up by Great America.

But two hiway lanes (they could put some supports in the grass in the middle) are still too much of a gap to build a wooden coaster over, even if it was legal. With a steel one it might be possible, but, as has been said, I don't think it's legal.

Uh, no...I-94 is most definitely six lanes in front of SFGAm. And there is no grass in the middle.

And like I said, since nobody can own the road, nobody can really build above it. Certainly not an amusement park,a t least.

Wow! Over 550 posts, 11 days= 50 posts a day!
So... is there any proof that this is going to really be a clone? Colors are colors, it could be a totally different Superman ride.

Coaster Counter: 85+...I need to sit down and figure it out :)

Let's just hope not. I want 11 inversions.

"The password is, 'Nice rack,', and I'll reply 'I forgot my bra,'."

i-94 is definitly 6 lanes wide by great america. if you want to be real tecnical it's actuly 7 with the long exit ramp going north bound.

oh the comment on a coaster going over the highway how ever unlikely it would be, it would definitly add to the popularity of the ride and the park. just think of the thrill of traffic doing 65mph under you as you fly over.

-----------------

...and the cars crashing as a windshield shatters because some dork drops something he/she should not have brought on the ride ....

Le roi est mort. Vive le roi.
Thanks Great America!

Over is extremely unlikely. Under is a better possibility but still extremely unlikely.

-----------------
All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

I don't think they would build over or under but that would be a really good idea. If they did build over there would be people who throw stuff off the ride and hit cars.
cant forget the occational idiot who looses a shoe

p.s. contrary to popular belief i am not an idiot nor i am i a child.
