SFGAm Deja Vu Vallies Again

Why dont they keep Shockwave and get rid of this ride as it is almost down as much as it operates!!!
Rollergator- that same thing happened to a friend and I when we were in line for Deja/Vu a few days after SRM. Fortunately, after about an hour of waiting, they finally got it opened back up.
Bob O, you must have not been to the park much as the ride is up quite a bit lately. I've been there 5 days this year and 4 of those days it was operating the whole day. The ride really is great, people trash it because it's "down" alll the time even though it isn't really down much at all. The worst breakdown is the valley and usually the valley is in the station which is only a 20 minute breakdown, big deal, get over it, sometimes rides come with a price outside of money, they got it working pretty good as this is the first "tough" valley in months.

Deja Vu seems to be pretty reliable. Every day I have gone to the park the ride has been open sometime during the day. What I try to do is just go on other coasters and not worry about Deja Vu opening, but whenever I am on a coaster lift hill I try to see if Deja Vu is open. If it is, go and get in line. One day I got in line for Demon when Deja Vu was closed. When we got on the lift hill, I saw an employee opening the gate (you really have to turn your neck around to see the line from Demon). I got off the ride, and got on Deja Vu in about 10 minutes.

Why not just put some tire drive wheels in between the loop and cobra roll?

Is Deja Vu still down?

there'd have to be tire drive wheels all up the loop and/or cobra roll then.

plus the wheels are always in a position to engage the train, so if they weren't on, they'd actually slow it down by friction. thyey'd have to be laterally mobile, which i dont think has ever been done and so would be expensive.

Raven_Rider.....this could be the SAME time...we were there.....let's see, SRM, then IB, then SFGAm, then the "rain day" was Tuesday....that means we were there the Monday post-SRM.....it was really kinda weird seeing a coaster valley in the station....but it *finally* stopped rolling.....was that your day there?

bill.....saw SO many enthusiasts on that trip, even met a guy riding AE that day who was an enthusiast that *didn't drive*....man, that would seriously hurt my ability to ride, don't know how he managed.....wearing SRM shirts draws *enthusiasts* like FLIES......;).....ain't that right, joey isch....no one can resist the charm of HW, it's "infectatious"....

Just got back from the park and the train is valleyed between the loop and cobra roll. No progress on moving the train because its still in one piece valleyed above the wooden platform.

Shockwave is still closed also.

But, on a happy note, it was great to see the Whizzer truckin along giving rides.

Ric Flair was hitting on the female host, he told her - "Space Mountain may be the oldest ride in the park, but it has the longest line." WOOOOO!

Is there room for an Intamin hydraulic coaster there? I'd kill to see Deja Vu follow Sky Whirl to the recycling yard....

I do not trash the ride exclusively because of the fact it vallies more then a standard boomerang. I trash it also because the ride is terrible. The only thrilling part I found about it is the 50-50 chance that it could valley while I was on it.

Chitown - I was out at SFGAm last night, too.

I told you guys to never try to ride a Deja Vu when I'm around...

According to Guest Relations I was told to not expect Deja Vu to run until Labor Day weekend. That was told to me yesterday.

KTS, but won't DV be down after Labor Day because of the cold weather....;)

bill, happy to have gotten that ONE spin on SFGAM's "big green statue"....

Anybody else notice how crappy the paint job on the DV supports is? It looks like the paint's already coming off!!!

How about tire drive wheels in between the loop and cobra roll that spin at 75 M.P.H. or a speed that WILL get the train through with 15 - 20 mph to spare, and reverse when the train goes the other way? They could have infrared sensors that turn on the wheels the correct way on the cobra roll (the wheels would ALWAYS turn on, no matter what speed the train is going). All they'd have to do is replace 1 or 2 pieces of track with ones with tire drive wheels, and connect them to power, and add the sensors. How much could this possibly cost? $750,000 - $1,000,000? If my idea is way unfeasible please flame me and include a minimum of 3 swear words.
