sniped from Xtreme coasters...From Kristin Siebeneicher-Public Relations Manager for Six Flags Great Adventure:
" MEDIA ALERT - September 21, 2005
SIX FLAGS GREAT ADVENTURE WILL ANNOUNCE MONSTROUS WOODEN ROLLER COASTER
AND NEW KIDS' AREA FOR 2006
When: Release date - Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005
What: Six Flags Great Adventure, the World's largest regional theme park, will soon announce the details of its dramatic 2006 expansion plans.
The announcement will include an enormous, record-breaking wooden roller coaster -- the park's first new wooden coaster since 1978. One of two newly-themed areas - the park's third section devoted to children - will focus solely on families with exciting pint-sized adventures for the littlest thrill seekers."
Awesome, can't wait. I was thinking about something, though. Do you guys think Six Flags planned on doing this just one year after Ka to offset any "bad vides" that the downtime on the ride caused. I'd say that is a very good idea and will certainly help next year, even though I suspect Ka will be running better as time goes on. Oh yeah, and frickin' paint and fix up Rolling Thunder. It's a good ride and it'll look like @!#$ next to the new woody in its current state.
Yes I'm thinking more along the lines of record breaking drop, I just couldn't see SF taking care of a woody bigger then the beast. Even with this being the plug n play type track, I still don't think SF would want to take care of something as big as beast...but I could be wrong can't wait until the 28th
