SF GADV to get rid of their HUSS FRISSBEE, PENDULUM

It wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if it went to SFOG :) .
Remember just a few years ago, Great Adventure added a big flat ride package and marketed how they added 25 attractions? Already, most of the star flat rides of that package are gone because they refused to run/maintain them.

At one time they rivaled Cedar Point in ride total, not now.

I took the first picture of the Jump, and was lucky to get that picture at that. Luckily, it did open later that day. I got to ride it twice, and found it to be very intense. I agree that it does block a pathway, since you would have to cut through the arcade to get around it. Hmmm..., there's a little park in the mountains of Pennsylvania that has a lot of portable rides that were formerly at other parks. Wouldn't it be awesome if they bought it?

As for the Frisbee, I didn't think it was that hard to find. It was clearly obvious (when it was running), while you were entering the park by the ticket booths. As for the comment that you could get on in one or two cycles, I think that was a good thing. It seats a lot of people at one time.

I figure that if SFGADv does not have it open too often, that it is probably better to simply send it to another park that will use it.

I'm sure it can't make guests too happy to see closed rides...

Frisbees are great. One of my favorite flat rides, along with the Giant Frisbee.

Knotts Halloween Haunt- Everyone has to go sometime....

I'm at a loss for words with how much I agree with that.

SFGAm? Sure It's one of the Flagship parks but does it really need this more than some others?

Quite frankly , even though I go to parks 90% because of the coasters, they get a bit boring when they're the only thing to ride all day.

------------------
This whole computer rearranging thing has got to stop tonight; I'm typing on the computer from 4 feet away!

There's only one time I saw the Frisbee closed, and that was due to a mass power outage in 1999 (we were almost onboard), and I go every year.
Instead of sending it cross country to SFGRAM they should send it south to SFA.

It would fit in nicely in the spot formerly ocupied by sky escaper...I mean how much longer can that area of the park go without a replacement for that ride?

It's getting just a bit depressing to walk by Iron eagle & see a huge wooden fence where a ride should be located & something really needs to be put in there to fill the void left by sky escaper's removal.

While no-one can really answer if it needs it more than others(unless you have been to every park), SFGAm believe it or not, is in need of some flats.

They have the coaster variety, shows, kids areas, capacity issues, and customer service covered, but for a park this size, the flat rides are hurting some.

SFGAdv seems to be saturated with them so it only makes sense to move a few. I guess the former Jersey park manager decided to take a few rides with him to the windy city. :) *** Edited 12/20/2003 8:43:37 AM UTC by Chitown***

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

SFGAm really doesn't have mahy flats. besides condor, orbit, ricochet, hometown fun machine(which barelyruns) chubasco, and triple play, I really can't think of any more, unless you start naming kiddie rides. What other rides are heading to SFGAm rollocoast? do you know something that we don't
Turbo mentioned the Huss Condor, another ride that used to reside at Great Adventure. My memory is a little hazy on where it was located, but I believe it was in the Lakefront area. I believe someone mentioned that it had a home before Great Adventure also.

BatwingFAN, I don't think the Frisbee would fit where the Sky Escaper was without some space modifications. Another problem is that they haven't gotten rid of the frame and boom arm from the Sky Escaper yet either. I agree that it's time for something new there, and that they should remove the cars to the maintenance area, instead of sitting next to Wild One. *** Edited 12/20/2003 7:54:59 PM UTC by Intamin Fan***

I can't remember any time in the last 13 years that Six Flags Great Adventure's had a Huss Condor.

That's because the Huss Condor wasn't there within the last thirteen years. It was there for one year - 1989. It was located near where Skull Mountain is now. It then made its way to SFGAm.

Mojo - you're wrong. Both Hometown Fun Machine and Ice Mt Splash do not run on the weekdays. There are even signs up to notify the public of this.

SFGAm has a fair number of flat rides (a whole lot more than what Turbo listed). What's missing is newer, modern flats. While a Frisbee would be nice, I'd much rather have an KMG/Chance product.

The full list of flats at SFGAm: Sky Trek Tower, Hometown Fun Machine, Triple Play, Orbit, Chubasco, River Rocker, Trailblazer, Whirligig, Ricochet, Fiddler's Fling, East River Crawler, Condor, Columbia Carousel, and Rue Le Dodge. Then there are four water rides, antique cars, a drop ride, a simulator, a train ride, and a number of children's rides. Like I said, there's a good number of rides, but modern flats are lacking.

Edit: Oops, sorry. I didn't realize there was a second page. This is in Regard to Mojo's post. Sorry.

Edit #2: Coasterdude: You forgot A-Merri-Go-Round the antique carousel near Eagle in County Fair.

What are you talking about? Fun Machine is Only open on weekends! No it doesn't run every day, i went at least once a week this whole year, except FF. I only saw it open two or three times the whole season. I realize it was open more then that but still.

However, i have also heard we will be getting two flats next year, and i am fairly confident that one of them will be pendulum. I think that the other one is going to be a new one.

I think GAm is getting pendulum because of it's new general manager, who seems to be rather fond of Flat Rides.

That list beats out the number at SFOG by 9 rides. And there aren't any real "modern" flats at SFOG either.

Face it. SFOG deserves it more.

Although I'd rather get the jump than the pendelum....

OK, the ride is down, but how does anyone know if the ride is out? It is one of the most reliable rides in the park, and only suffers from it poor location behind the Autobaun. What is all this talk of moving it to SFGAm? It was suggested as a good location, so everyone is just running with it?

Face it guys, nothing is confirmed, it may leave the park, it may not, and most of you are just making excusses on why your home park should get it. It is just ridiculous.

Hey , I may be ridiculous , but coasterdude's a fanboy!;)

--------------
Gobstoppers-A great Candy.

Black7 - Simple and honest. Pendulum is going away.

Pinkdoommonkeyguy - SFoG may "need" it, but they don't deserve it. Face it, flagship parks will always get more stuff, and quite frankly SFoG isn't one of them. Sure it's one of my favorite SF parks, but I'd bet that their attendance doesn't touch SFGAm.

I would love to see a some good flats from Mondial or KMG at SFoG, but I'd love to see those at every park :)

That huss condor traveled to several of the SF parks in the late 80's-early 90's- It was at Magic Mountain around 88 or so and I know it was in Houston for a season in 91. *** Edited 12/21/2003 5:24:35 AM UTC by IntrepidationAW***

Excuse me? I'm not the one saying SFGAm "deserves" the Frisbee. In fact, nowhere in this thread did I say SFGAM should, would, or could get the Frisbee. I also never whined about the number of flats at SFGAm. I just corrected a previous poster on the number of flats at the park.

You quote me above and say "Face it. SFOG deserves it more." I never said anything to the contrary, or even that SFGAm "deserves" it at all. I'm well aware of the flat ride deficiency at SFoG.
