Save Shockwave Campaign?

GIVE IT UP!!! It took a month of outcry to get them to change their minds over Whizzer. Heck, I was calling Guest Relations every day for the past few weeks telling them to take out Shockwave instead! Now that you know I don't support your cause, I say give up. The chain's already been taken off the hill and the ride's closed. Shockwave's days are done.

good riddance on Shockwave...won't touch that ride with a 100-foot pole...

Thanks for SAVING THE WHIZZER!! it couldn't happen to a better ride...

Ok listen, SW takes up alot of space, so if theres a ride to go bye bye thats the one. Second, they have to get rid of a ride to make space to add a new one. Third, the GP and many enthusiasts don't like it because its to rough or it hurts there head. 4th its not as unique as whizzer. 5th they need a family coaster which is whizzer. And 6th would you rather have a 4D/other big coaster or a arrow megalooper?

Give it up... Resistance is Futile! If anything should be done to Shockwave. It should be melted down and turned into something useful. Shockwave is the only coaster I hate, and I for one am not sad to see it go!

It's a shame SF couldn't retrofit the trains with lap bars abd possibably make it a good ride. I went to GA yesterday to ride Whizzer and was disappointed not to be able to ride SW.

Sorry, lap bars aren't going to fix the massive jerk in the turn by the midcourse brakes...

What about Comet? I wouldn't call that a reject or horrible.

Anyway...while everyone is talking about Shockwave, does anyone know where I can find an on-ride video of it (or any of the S-Waves for that matter)?

The worst headbanger moment in history is that turn. Interesting the camera is positioned right at that turn. More interesting is three intense loops precede that. I bet sooner or later Shockwave would kill a man.

Just got back from the park. Shockwave's chain is still on and all 3 trains are on the transfer track. The Blue train however is missing the two front cars.

I a park in desperate need for coasters should get it. SFAW can make room put it in the parking lot like SFGAM did.

the thing is, AstroWorld doesn't own their parking lot, and even if they did, it'a across the highway from the park. There's no room to put it at AstroWorld, so I don't think it's coming down here.

No it wouldn't but it will make it more bearable and maybe even more fun. Lateral G forces and bumps are alot harder with OTS but with Lap Bars its a differnt story.

Whoa I'm the 88984594th Vistor to Coasterbuzz. I wonder what I have won.

Could Shockwave go to Jazzland, Enchanted Village, La Ronde, Frontier City, Wyandot Lake, Great Escape, etc.? I don't know how much land each of these parks have, but I'd like the ride to go somewhere if it's being removed. Like someone mentioned, it would even be perfect to advertise as a new ride at Kentucky Kingdom(the height limit may be wrong for it though if they have one). Whatever happens, SFGAm would be even better with 12 coasters and another park could do better getting a new ride they normally wouldn't have a chance to anyways.

The GP doesn't know it's been used and it's a huge ride and I would travel to a different park just to look at it (and maybe ride ;)) to see how it could greatly affect the skyline. I'm for saving coasters no matter how bad they are to be honest and if they're just going to rip it apart and bury it, they can just put it in my backyard instead. I could fix it up real nice, hehe! ;)

How about until it's official that Shockwave is indeed being torn down, we don't worry about where it could go. As far as I'm concerned, and a good number of people I chat with are concerned, it's staying right where it is.

The chain is on the lift, and all 2 5/7ths trains are on the storage track. With only 2 cars off the storage track, that shows you it is probably closed for a repair job. Normally you wouldn't repair a coaster that is being torn down.

Hello, this is my first post (on CoasterBuzz anyway). I'd just like to point out something: on SFGAm's homepage, there is a poll where you can select you favorite coaster between Raging Bull, Deja Vu, V2, and Shockwave. While Raging Bull has over half the votes, Shockwave is apparently slightly more popular than V2. So the ride does have its fanbase. Thats why I don't believe that it is leaving yet. Its a ride you either like or totally despise. I'm a fan on intense rides and Shockwave is one of my favorites (I often ride it several times in a row) and I'll be sad to see it go if it actually does leave.
Six Flags never really teard down coasters do they? Once the initial novelty wears off they just dismantle and move

Wow. What a shocker. I come back from a great trip to news like this. I love the Shockwave, and entering GAm wiothout hearing an Arrow lifthill , well, I just can't imagine it. You all complain about Shockwave being rough (which I'll admit, it wasn't B&M, but the horror stories aren't true) but the least you can do is admit it was eye candy. I'm hoping if this is indeed true, and the big blue one goes, it will be A)Re-Located and B) Under any circumstances, NOT replaced by a clone.

-----------------
Thank You for challenging TOS: The Ride. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day, here at SFCB.

Yes, the horror stories ARE true... :)

I seriously hope Amusement Business didn't jump the gun on this baby... Though I do have to dispute the claim that the trains being off the transfer track signify repair...

I mean, maybe, but it also could mean they're getting ready to tear it down, or that they're repairing them to give it to another park, or something like that.

By the way, the camera is right between the two inversions on the boomerang.

Between Whizzer and Shockwave I say take Shockwave. Between Shockwave and Iron Wolf I say strap some C4 to Iron Wolf and press the button. BUT as i've said before it's all a personal thing. Ride what you like and walk by the rest.

Millennium Force - Any other questions?

how dare you say that about a B&M you *******!!!

I agree with Marky Mark - I would rather see Iron Wolf go before Shockwave any day. What people don't seem to realize is that Iron Wolf is more painful than Shockwave. IMO, Iron Wolf is a terrible coaster, and just because its a B&M doesn't mean it needs to stay.
