More Inferno rumors bubbling up. This one looks to be something that's on it's way next year. I think the site at which it will be is wrong though(KCKC). I hope so at least.
http://208.31.237.77/News___Rumors/North_America/Paramount_Parks/paramount_parks.html http://www.thrillride.com/WildRumors/rumors/WildRumors5.php It looks like an enclosed Top Spin similar to Cliffhanger at PCW(
http://www.canadas-wonderland.com/attractions_rides.jsp ) with a lot of effects and a storyline. The theming sounds great, but a piece of dog crap wrapped in a pretty bow is still a piece of dog crap wrapped in a pretty bow. I think this could be a disappointment for those not crazy about spin and pukes. Let's hope this isn't the big one.
My other question is: Are top spins really fun flat rides and how much is the intensity if they want to reach to a large audience?
Again, hopefully this isn't the big one.

Take this one over to the rumors section.
( I know it's got a question in it, but include that in a seperate thread, and put the rumors part where it belongs.)

(Who will be at Cedar Point August 9th. E-mail me if you're gonna be there.)
OK, Intamin Fan. I would, but the last time I sent one in, he didn't put it up and he said he rejects about 90% of them. So, until he says he'll take this as a rumor, I'll leave it be.
Edit: Well it's been submitted. We'll have to see.

I highly HIGHLY doubt that this is the "big one" for PKI next year. I mean, take out a great water flume ride and put in a spin and puke at the KCKC site? I don't think so. The signs distinctly say it will be an adventure, and to "discover new thrills" next year.
If somehow this turns out to be for real, I for one will be incredibly disappointed and will stay away from PKI because that would be a real shame to do something like that, and proclaim it as the big new thrilling adventure, expecially for PKI's 30th anniversary.
Top Spin rides suck. They r fun but will definitely not get to be super fun if add theming and special effects to it. the point of riding it is to see the sky and ground flipping around you. not to see smoke and lasers woo hoo. if they do get this i will be very disappointed with PKI and find another park to visit next year.
hope Inferno = oNe of the attractions
Maybe Inferno's part of the pre-show to the new coaster or thrill ride?
No, but seriously, this would be a great C-Ticket attraction for Action Zone, because we need some shade over there. Everyone's expecting a big E-Ticket coaster from PKI for their anniversary as being the key Paramount park. We'll see at least a wild mouse. ;)

Well this would be a great addition to the park but it would be a major disappointment in my book.
Now if they follow the same path they did in 1999 this may be only a portion of the proposed attractions for the park. Maybe Rivertown is receiving a makeover by adding 2 sweet rides one thrill ride, one coaster (ex. Drop Zone - Face/Off). This could be another great season at PKI.

IMHO, I've never been on a topspin. But, I've been on the Mighty Axe at the Mall of America. It is like a topspin, but gets to the top by going to the left or right, instead of forward and backward. I thought it was the best ride there, and it is quite fun. I'd imagine topspins are just as fun, maybe more fun.

Everybodys got something to hide except for me and my monkey!
I'm just wondering why anyone would be disappointed if PKI built this as their only attraction. No park is entitled to build ANYTHING in a particular year, and we should be happy that they're building something period.
I was hoping for more than "Nick Central" this year, but it's a huge hit. Word is, ticket sales are up from the previous two years, and now PKI has what are arguably the best two kids areas outside of Florida.
Let's just enjoy the park for what it is, and not write it off because they "only" spend five or six million dollars on a top-spin.

I have been thinking: there is too much room from the KCKC lot for just one spin and puke. If I were the head honcho for PKI, heres what I would do:
First, I would put a flat ride by the game booths, putting the entrance/exit where the game booths are thus taking them out. I would then move the entrance to the Beast to where the old concessions used to be (where the pop machines are now). I would then build another midway stretching by the Beast line, underneath the Beast, and finally ending by 7th portal, in between the Vortex and Beast. I would build a coaster back behind this new spin and puke. This would actually fit all the discriptions of an exciting new adventure. I would make the rest of the midway, until expansion in 03, i would theme the midway and make it a nature walk type thing.
This doesnt seem so bad actually

Now I no that i remember seeing a link to the people that are making "inferno"'s website and i can not find it now. Can anyone tell me what this link was again.
I've never been on a Huss Top Spin, but I have been on a Mondial Splashover, which is what Cliffhanger at PCW is. It was pretty boring, but I think it may depend on the operater. If this is what PKI is getting, don't expect too much because you will most likely be let down.
They really need to put some type of flat ride back near FoF.
I like Top Spins. They are really pretty fun. But wouldn't that be something if it was part of the queue for a big coaster? That would be one of a kind!

The Pens will win the Stanley Cup in 2002!
Here @ Lagoon, we have a Mondial Splashover new for 2001, named Cliffhanger. Our Cliffhanger Rocks! It is loads of fun cause you get soaked with water. For the most part, the ride does depend on the Ride Cycles which there are six (6). You always have a different ride experience. You may not flip and spin a lot, but you are really preoccupied by the water, and getting wet is the best part of the ride. Personally, I think this ride is a lot of fun and would fit in well at any park.

Little BigMan, the site you're probably thinking of is for the european company,
FAB. They make a ride called "INFERNO," which you can view at
www.fab.lu/uk/ . It is my understanding that this is NOT the ride that is going to PKI.
And as far as the ride going somewhere other than KCKC, that's not true - at least that's what I've been told. It will be in the KCKC location. I'm truly hoping that this turns out to be a Rivertown expansion over a period of time.

The Top Spin ride is nothing fun, too much quick spinning and odd, jerky movements. There are much better high inverting flat rides, Intamin looping star ship/Huss ranger and FAB inferno to name a few. Hoping Kings Island does not get a top spin, there is already one at Geauga Lake, there are too many sensational flat rides available that are not yet in ohio......the ones above, Huss swingout, Nauta Bussink imperator, Huss jump, Huss tri-star......
I remember someone here getting an email from a PR guy at PKI saying that the new attraction would be unique, expensive, and big. A freakin' flat ride isn't any of these things. If they put in a flat ride, I think I wouldn't be against driving about 4 hours to go to CP.
This must be a bad rumor, because it looks as if Jeff didn't post it yet, unless he hasn't updated or checked it out. Who knows? Although, yes, PKI does not owe us anything, I hope that this is a false rumor or one that will be built elsewhere in the park.
