Over the last two weeks, the anonymous owner of Geauga Lake's Big Dipper tried selling the coaster on eBay. Through that process, we've learned a little more about the man, the anger directed at him, and his history with The Big Dipper. A representative says the ride will be demolished September 15 without a buyer.

How many business plans do you think come up and do not work out and people lose money.? That is all I am saying.
So is that an admission that his business plan from the beginning was simply to make a profit (albeit on something he loved), and it didn't work out?
If so, fine - but not exactly the "His intension's were as pure as the driven snow" that you have been trying to uphold on here.
The original plans went downhill very fast after the auction. He was trying to make the best (financially) of a bad situation. I really don't know much about that. I had not been involved back then. I got involved a little while after that. Was it the right move? I don't think so, but I was not involved back then.I can only give you my opinion from when I was around the situation.
I don't see an issue with trying to make a profit and save something you care about. As it is well known , The best business decisions are not made with your heart. Alot of people make money doing things they care about.

Who is the troll? How is discussing the topic being a troll? Mabe you should learn the term there Jerry. As my friend Jerry mentioned something about tinfoil hats?Jeff, you keep it up and the sleepover will be off!! lol
I'm not your friend....
Who feels there is a conspiracy? No one here does. In fact, I don't think most people here care enough to come up with a conspiricy.
The thing is, we all have accpeted what you're saying, that, okay, someone had plans and they fell thru. Okay. We get that. But you're crusading around wanting people's ideas and opinions to change about something that isn't important, without giving any convincing arguement as to why our opinions should change.
"You don't know the whole story" isn't good enough of a reason to change my opinion.
Heck, we can't even all agree about important things like charity around here, and saving a roller coaster is really so unimportant in the grand scheme of things that people really aren't going to care enough to agree.
Jerry, you are not my friend because we disagree? You don't even know me. if you met me you might like me, I'm quite a hoot.
Tek, I know it dosn't seem like it, but I'm really not trying to crusade for anything. I am just offering a different prespective. I just find it hard to call somebody that bought a amusement ride "stupid" " dumb or any other choice names without knowing the entire story. Some things I don't know, but with my conversations and what I have seen, I see things differently.
I totally agree that a roller coaster is not as important the horrible things in this world. However in my opinion I like to go to parks and forget all the bad things for a while I have my own personal ties to dipper and my own reasons for trying to save her. That is all I am trying to do here is helping to save dipper.
I certainly don't see an issue with trying to make a profit and saving something you care about either. It may not be the best business decision, but that's his problem.
The whole reason I joined the discussion is because you keep saying things like:
(All direct quotes BTW)
The latest admission that he was infact simply trying to make a profit and the plan backfired, completely contradicts the rosy picture you have been trying to paint for weeks now.
I think "Jerry Is Not Your Friend" is WAY better than "Or Maverick."
Definitive troll-stopper response in the making.

Troll: "Something trolly"
CB Regular poster: "Jerry is not your friend."
^I'm not sure what happened to all of my quotes - but needless to say, they were all from ffej over the 3 threads about what a humanitarian the buyer was trying to save the Big Dipper!
Not once did I say he was not trying to make a profit. Still the fact is that he was the only one to place a bid. I have in more than one response say that things wer not done the right way at times. btw, I never said humanitarian.

I like Pancakes....
OK, so maybe you never directly said "He wasn't trying to make a profit." But you did have direct quotes like:
"The guy who bought it is a good guy that has always had good intentions" and "they have had the best intentions from the start"
I guess those good intentions were to put money in his (their? Apex??) pocket?!?!
yes, I did say that and I still believe it. you can have good intentions and make a profit doing it.
A forum troll is someone who actively watches a forum. Not to be confused with a lurker, or just a forum frequenter, the troll annoys, pesters, and generally insults any thread they open.
Or in real world, "I have nothing good or relatible to the subject, so I will try to make jokes at a "friends" expense!!

It is also someone who can't let an issue lie where it belongs, dead.... Burn it down, the Big dipper had it's day, and it's time for closure.
Nope, I didn't read any troll definition about that. friend. sorry.I am just responding to questions or coments directed in my way. I'm sorry you don't like my opinion friend.
Oh by the way , you may be right Jerry, It may be dipper's day soon and it may be done. I hope not but you may be right. But, as of now it is still standing .
