Beta hasn't begun yet, so I don't know anything. I just know that the development phase is winding down right now, so last minute suggestions now might make it in game.

They made you a beta tester? You dont even know any thing about a development cycle. If they are just finishing development, they aren't going to put anything new in the program. In fact, once development starts, a project manager is loathe to put anything else in the production schedule, lest the project get bogged down in scope creep.
If you actually are a tester, my guess is that you will have absolutely NO say in what goes into the final product. My actual guess is you're just here blowing smoke up everyone's a$$ for your own entertainment.
Sorry, but thank you for playing. Please enjoy our lovely home game...
Certain victory.
Now Back to you, Neuski.
But I'm sure you'll ask that RCT3's expansion adds something to SFA, so why even bother?;)
The only reason I'm not inclined to agree is that they shipped crap and didn't get the gameplay even remotely OK without patches. That says to me they had some really free and loose "requirements," if they had any at all.

How about including SOUND for those attractions first? And while we are at it, they could maybe...oh..I don't know...FINISH the game first. It's getting there, but not there yet. Too many things missing (like sound effects) or don't run right (like most of the water rides being too fast) and the group AI is pretty messed up. Peeps have a hard time meeting their needs even if you have plenty of restrooms, food and drink stands available.
While I have no doubt that people out there are having trouble getting the game to work properly, it seems to work fine on my sh*tty computer.
There's just only tiny problem to fix for it to be enjoyable... the game isn't fun! (I know....details)
Whenever I play RCT 3, I get the same feeling as when I'm doing homework.
But seriously, I'll play your game and give my suggestion.... Atari absolutely needs to re-include the option for one price for all concession stands. It's such a pain in the ass to have to go through and change the prices one by one on each stand. And not only is it tedious, but it's unrealistic. What amusement park have you been to recently where the price of a coke is different from one shop to another?
If the game was programmed logically (which I'm sure it wasn't) then fixing this should be easy... all you have to do is make the item price attribute for each shop static and you're done!
Did the designers even play the first or second game at all? I'm just curious if they overlooked the ability to set one price for all the same items, or if they thought people enjoyed manually changing prices.

The second patch includes a checkbox to sync prices across stands of the same type. (like RCT2)
But you're right, there's just some intangible missing that makes the game fun. I have no suggestions, I don't know what it is myself. I could play the first two and lose hours at a time. I have a hard time pumping out a one-off coaster in one sitting in RCT3.
I don't even take issue so much with the crappy performance of the game, I just wish I found it more fun to play.
At least by the time this new expansion is released I'll have a new PC that'll be capable of running the game....til then it just sits in the box gathering dust although I can at least read the manual from time to time so as to prepare for the frustrations that are bound to be ahead when I finally do get the game running.

If a top end machine is getting as low as 3.5 FPS on a park that usues only 25% of the available map and no additonal peep processing - that's insane.
That is what happenes though, when greedy people are consummed with making large sums of money. They ending up not caring at all about the quality of the product, they just want the loads of money they get from selling their falsly advertised crap, One example SF
All's I asked is what you guys, the hardcore enthusiasts, what you would like to see in the expansion, thats's all.
But instead you jump all over me, essentially saying that it's my fault that this game is 'a piece of ****', which I dont think it is. If you hate it so much, dont respond to this topic, or post to Atari.
Hell, I remeber the days when Jeff jumped over anyone who made more than 2 typo's in a post. :)
And yes, I can contact the DEV's, but without any suggestions, I have nothing to pass along. *** Edited 1/28/2005 10:45:01 PM UTC by RCT_MASTER***

Rightly so, but just cos you don't think it is doesn't exclude others from thinking differently. I reckon the general feeling wherever you look is of being CONNED. Look around and take the blinkers off - it seems to be that people think the game should not have been released in the state it was.
