^He was there most of Sunday as well, but it didn't hinder the phlyer antics too much. ;)

Cesari's took FOREVER! My friend and I went to what we "thought" was the shortest line. It ended up being the ONE line where people were ordering whole pizzas in addition to the peeps getting their two slices. In other words we waited for a LONG time!

I commented that we SHOULD of went to the line at the FAR right where the "golf" dudes went. ;) GREAT costumes by the way!

After we got our pizza and drinks (why they make a seperate line for the sodas is BEYOND me...you would think it would be easier to make the soda/pizza thing into ONE coupon and/or supply the soda and pizza at the SAME time!) we sat with my posse who drew all over the "chicken" shirt. They were relentless. :) They would NOT let me have my pizza and soda until I put on the shirt and hat. Damn kids. ;) I gotta love them!

It was the best time EVER! The wait at Cesari's is my only gripe about the event. Everything else was PERFECT!

Bear, where you the guy who waved at me and I looked at you like I "sort of" recognized you and waved back but had the look on my face like "who is he.....I KNOW him but can't remember who he is?" :)

I apologize! :)

It's amazing that They can manage to move the Phoenix line that went clear out to the Chalet gift shop in about 5 minutes, but it took 10 minutes or more for a 5 person line at Cesari's. And then you have to wait again because, naturally, people want whatever type of drink isn't already poured.

I guess even Knoebels can't be perfect. :)

20 second dispatch times on Phoenix when they were running one train makes me overlook any other hiccups in the Ksystem. There is something cool about the next train rolling out while some of the previous riders are still exiting the platform.

PPP was amazing, thanks to everyone who made it great! Thanks again Tina for letting us crash! It was great seeing everybody again!! I had probably one of the best coaster experiences of my LIFE riding Phoenix in the front seat getting all that airtime through all that fog coming from the haunted antique car ride. I'll definitely be back next year.

Traffic heading to the park in the morning was backed up all the way to the Sheetz in Elysburg!

You guys sure you didn't accidentally go to SF? ;)

Tina, I was 2 behind you in line @ Cesari's. And it wasn't just whole pies people were ordering, it was like broccoli and pineapple pies. I was the one who yelled "Hey Coasterqueen" at you after you finally got served.

I think the problem is that most of the enthusiasts head over to Cesari's between 5 and 6 so they miss as little riding as possible. Maybe they could set aside one or two lines closest to the pavilion for customers with Coupons only. Sort of like EZPass. :)

They wouldn't have to use those registers, or serve paying customers drinks from the same fountains they use for the people with coupons. That was an issue too-- workers kept crossing in front of each other going back and forth.

Gonch, there would have been NO traffic in Elysburg if they were charging $15 to park. :)

Gonch, LOL!

Bear, I didn't hear my name being yelled. ;) I am sorry that I missed ya!

Patrick, It was a pleasure having you and Danny crash with me! You guys are welcome anytime! :)

^ Then you heard something else, because you turned around and waved. :)
My wife tells me now that I could have gone. Nice. Thanks, um, no not so much really. How's about telling me BEFORE the event that I can make a solo 350 mile drive and leave you with the kids so I can ride Phoenix, Twister, Flyer, Skooters, et al at my favorite park and what would be my first enthusiast event ever. Glad I have had a CBuzz card for the last two years. This years one still looks nice and clean and still attached to the letter it came with.

I'm guessing we're going to Cedar Point next Saturday, but I won't know about it until Friday night, late. Doesn't matter. I'm a member. She is not. We have two kids. Do the math. 2 guests per member. Hey honey, mind standing outside the park for a few hours while I take the kids in and have fun?

You have disturbed the forbidden temple, now-you-will-pay!!!

Ahh, ok. I remember now. :)
^^ Tom, at Knoebels your CBuzz card would have gotten you ERT from 6-10 for $17, coupons for 2 free slices of plain pizza and one free large drink at Cesari's Pizza, one free Scenic Skyride, and one free game (worth $1.00).

Not having a CBuzz card (or any other card) would have gotten you the exact same thing. So at PPP, you CAN leave home without it. :)

^Exactly. I have NEVER been "carded" at PPP either. ;)

I've met some wonderful people and some unbelievable a**holes. I've also met the latter that turned into the former, and the former that turned into the latter.

Which category am I in?

We don't need to go there ;)

Knoebels continues to make changes to the pizza situation in an attempt to make the lines shorter but it doesn't seem to help. Years ago meal time was specifically between 5 and 6 and Cesari's was half the size it is right now. Of course, there were less people there, but still... if you lined registered and lined up for food at 5, you might have gotten in line for the Haunted Mansion by 6.

We got on a fairly quick line, which was good and bad because standing in line have me a chance to catch up with gator and it would have been nice to have had more time. The worst part is the drinks line. There should have been someone filling drink cups in back and another handing them out. Instead, the girl would take four "orders", disappear into the building and come back about two minutes later. You can probably imagine what that line was like.

I had the opposite problem. Drinks were no problem, you could just walk up and take one. I only had 4 people in the pizza line ahead of me-- two of which wanted whole pies. And another one had a chicken on her head. :)

^;) I remember.

The group I sat down with (who were the ones responsible for the chicken hat and shirt) confiscated my pizza and drink until I put on the "costume."

Darn kids. ;)

I got my revenge earlier by making them feel uncomfortable during the Sky Lift. Apparently yelling "ROLLBACK!" and "WHY IS THE CABLE SHAKING I THINK I SEE IT SNAPPING INTO!" and "WHAT IS THAT NOISE? WE ARE GOING TO DIE!" is disturbing to a group who is afraid of heights. ;)

Good times! ;)

Now that's what makes hangin' 'round a bunch of like minded people fun! I missed PPP this year (went to Dollywood instead, got the shoulder bruises from MM to prove it), maybe next year. Really looking forward to the openinging of the Flying Turns. *** Edited 10/14/2007 3:05:37 PM UTC by jshorerzd***

First off, Danny what program did you originally generate the text in? That could be a big help understanding what happened when you pasted the text in.

Second of all P18, sorry to hear about the experience you had. I've never been to an open-ended event like PPP, so that's likely to bring out all kinds of different personalities from all across the country.

Your profile doesn't list where you come from, but if you're a person from the midwest, let's say, you might find people on the East coast to be very cold and/or rude.

I think the way an event is designed can make it easier for you to meet other people as well. If it's just strictly about ERT and food, then people might just be focused on rides and not interacting with other people.

If on the other hand, an event has been designed like ACE's Midwest Fall Thrillfest has been for the last two years at KD, I think there's more of an opportunity for interaction with other participants.

Sure, there's been some ERT (I.J. last year/VtBC, FoF this year), but there's also been competitions like the shootout at Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Mansion, and this year's Splash Battle challenge (one of the watergun-based midway games). We've also had early access to one of the haunted mazes and riding Taxi Jam--no kid needed.

I got some poor video footage of two cycles from Saturday night. My camera work is the issue I'm still learning. I might post it online and let people see it but I'm not to sure about wether I want to or not.

I'd like to see the video, it's gonna be a long winter... :)
