Just as an info that ad-companies actually try to think outside of the box (albeit a very small one):

I am visiting the site from germany, and since a few weeks there is a new trend in pop-ups which is quite hilarious: The text is translated into german! This is quite strange because those ads mostly show George W. Bushs face with hideous typing and translating errors asking: "Will he be prosecuted?", "Will he be impeached?", "Will he end the war?". At least I guess that this is what it says, because there are more errors than Babelfish could squeeze into such a short sentence.

This would be bizarre in its own right, but who pays money to actually advertise out of the market without even bothering about the appearance of the ad?

CrazyB - I think what you are trying to say is "Why not use Google Ad-sence?" I have had this conversation with Jeff and the way the current setup is with the site, there isn't enough quality keywords that are generated where the ads could go.

I believe in the future v8 of popforums, that is taken into consideration.
