Personal longest wait time

Around 10 hours for SOB on one of the first days it was open. We got to the park around 8:30 and got very first in line for it. The ride ops kept saying it will probaly open soon so we waited. We alos figured that if we got out of line it would start. I had already been to PKI so many times that year I didn't care it was like the only thing I wouild ride. Around 6:30 it opened and we got front row first ride. I think someone already said something about this earlier
I waited 6 hours for Millennium Force and I waited 4 hours for SOB both were there opening year.

Getting into this thread late, but here's my story:

Easter Sunday, 1993, SFMM. Massive crowds. Viper was running three trains but the line was all the way down the hill to the carousel and then douibles BACK up to the station. After waiting in line for an hour, they had problems with one of the trains and moved it into the transfer, causing a 30 min delay. That slowed capacity but workers were trying to get the third train back in service. An hour later we'd reached the station and they closed the ride again to put the third train back, causing another 30 minute delay. Total waiting time: 3:30 minutes. I know that's a long time to wait but after investing 2 hours we didn't want to get out of line. At least the park was doing everything they could to keep things running!

2002 - the year of IB's LoCoSuMo!!

5 Hours for Raging Bull during the Memorial Day Weekend of its first season. Combination of rain, adding a train, and a breakdown (not to mention a line all the way past Vipers entrance to begin with).

R.I.P Megadeth. 20 Years of Metal will not be forgotten.

Longest wait for any ride? 2 hrs 45 min for Escape From Pompeii opening year at BGW on a blazing 90 something degree day in July.

Longest wait for a coaster? Sad to say but, close to 2 hrs for Predator the year it opened at Darien Lake. It was rough even then. I simply refuse to wait that long for any ride again unless I know I won't be back to that parkfor the rest of my life. I am very impatient.

Enjoy yourself. These are the good old days you're going to miss in the years ahead.

1hr. 15min for S:KC at SFFT On 4/20

-----------------
New coasters in 02 so far: SE,GW(SWSA) SKC Rattler, RoadExp,Boomerang:CtC(SFFT)

The longest I ever waited was for S:ROS at SFDL when it opened in 1999. I waited 2 hours and that included the lift stopping twice and somebody in the back seat in the brake run doing some bad damage to their head. The red cart which he was in was taken off the track because of blood. So from then on it was one train and another 30 minutes to wait.We rode at dusk. Awesome for a first coaster over 200 feet.
4 hours for MF on opening day (well worth the wait) also about 3 and a half hours for SOB opening day (I ended up being the first rider of the genreal public) also worth the wait at the time.

3 1/2 hours for MF because of two breakdowns and a rain storm. When I finally boarded th coaster for my first ride ever, it began to downpour. When it is pouring rain on MF, it hurts real badly. Ouch!!!

5 hours for Volcano on opening day. I did not know that it was opening day when I arrived at the park and the ride broke down 3 times.

BUT, the coaster that takes the cake is Batwing, almost 9 hours!!!! It was a day of ERT for Coasterzombies members. It was opening day for Batwing and Coasterzombies members like myself were allowed 1 hour of ERT at 9 AM but the ride did not open at 9 AM or 10 or 11 or 12 or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5. The coaster finally opened at 6:30 PM at night. It had 3 rain storms but the main problem was that Vekoma was just training the ride operators for the first time and there were many technical difficulties. They said the ride had to make 15 complete circuits before it could be open. Well around 6:00 I had it with waiting for 9 hours, so I went home. Supposedly the ride opened at 6:30, which is30 min. after I left. I was so pissed because it was raining and I thought the ride would never open. 9 hours of waiting for nothing. Anyone else there that day. I know Sam Marks was because he was the coordinator and theis big security guard tried to manhandle and throw us all out of the line. That guy was a jerk and had no idea what he was doing. Anyone else there?

90 min. for rhino rally. not worth it more like 45 min

1 hour and 15 minutes to get on Talon (They were only running one train). Later in the day when they put the second on the line was maybe 15 minutes.

Where has the magic gone in the name Disney?

2:45 for Z-Force at SFGAm it's opening year - can't remember the specific year. I find it hard to believe now, but it was cutting-edge then.

1 year and a few days to ride X! Well, X was probably my longest wait with 3 hours during the first day of the season pass preview (1 hour at the gate, another hour until the ride opened, 1 hour in the station)!

Chaindog, now that you mention Z-force, yeah, I waited an awfully long time for that puppy in September of 1987. 2.5 hours as a matter of fact. Boy, it wasn't worth it, but I was determined to hit it.

Its seems like everytime I go to Cedar Point Millennium Force wait time is usualy around 3 1/2Hours hopefuly coastermainia wait times will be shorter ;).

Kennywood: Phantoms Revenge last year with only one train waited about 2hours.

Valleyfair Security 2002! 8Years working at Valleyair :)!

According to RCDB, Z-Force opened in '85 (which makes me old, doesn't it?).

It wasn't worth the wait then, and still isn't at SFMM - even as a walk on!

Yeah I was there. But I dont really count that as a wait because I know at least *I* didnt stand there the entire time (long enough though). remember, they gave us a couple of spins on S:ROS, then most everyone else went off to see the rest of the park (I know I rode JJ and ROAR...maybe Wild One too).

And I dont remember that guy being a "jerk" so much as just not knowing what was going on. He made no attempt to 'manhandle' me.

Besides, if we were really shutting down people we disagreed with, would Jeremy (2Hostyl) still be around? :) I think not. - Jeff 1/24/02

5 hours, but broke down and came back for X, and was worth every minute! Oh yeah, Fastlane at Magic Mountain is well worth it for X on any day.

I waited 2 hours for Millennium Force in 2000, Raptor in 1994, and Mantis in 1996.

Anything past 2 hours, and I say, screw it. Just too long. Unless I get to ride Beast. Then I'll wait.
