Patriot Goes Vertical!

Well that's cool news. I wonder, is it normal to test a ride for 6 weeks prior to turning it over? That seems somewhat long to me for a B&M of this size. Maybe it has some new type of control system or other improvement that they want to run through the ringer? Just speculation obviously.

Yes Swoosh, it will dramatically improve that part of the park. I am looking forward to seeing it.

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

I just hope there are some trees and it doesn't look like another "Cedar Point" section of the park.

Very few trees were actually harmed in the construction of Patriot. The plaza will have the 2 large trees that sit behind the Rockin' Reeler's pad and the first drop will fly passed another tree that was left standing.

A majority of the tree removals were along the old access road and those weren't really visible from inside the park anyway.

Are they going to plant any trees around the coaster? Surrounding any coaster with trees greatly adds to the ride, IMO.

What AV is saying is that wood makes everything better ;)
That combined with his signature makes for some real hilarity.

LOL

Making a coaster out of wood is even better. :) *** Edited 1/11/2006 8:55:14 PM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

Due to Tuesday's weather (lots of snow, ice, nasty stuff) the crowning will be delayed until Friday.

SVLFever, the train features one row less of seats than previous inverted coasters from B&M (7 as opposed to 8). I do not know if that is the reason.

AV - what is wrong with the Cedar Point themed section of the park? I like that area. :) (for those who do not know where that section of the park is, it is Mamba Plaza and the area that Coasters Drive-In is located).

^It looks like a suburb....lots of grass and concrete. No offense. :)
The more wood, the merrier. :)

Well they have planted trees around the Mamba queue and they are starting to get big enough that they can provide shade during the heat waves. We will need them this coming season as the lines for everything will be crazy.

Dare I say, back to the good 'ole days when the park was hoppin'. The crowds have been a little depressing in recent years.

Yay threw the corkscrew and into High speed spiral yeasterday's update almost there.
Crowning will occur before noon Friday! I'm sure Nick will have photos up by mid-afternoon.

He put up some new ones today as well as moving the webcam to the RipCord deck.

It's DONE! They have put up the last piece of track alreay (at 7:35 am). There are also pictures now in the WOF construction log on the official site.

YAY!!!!! this is going to be the worst part of the construction now because They are just testing oh well can't wait.
We have the trains showing up to look forward to along with testing and watching water dummies have a blast. ;)
Yes but according to Nick we have more than a month to wait for the trains to show up. They will be cleaning up a lot here for the next few weeks and that "hill" that you despise Jive is supposed to be leaving. :) Were you down around WOF today perchance? I swear I saw you, and if not it was your evil twin in a mini-van nonetheless. ;)

I can't believe that you thought of me as a mini-van driver. ;) I can definately see an evil twin driving one though and I think that Nat from wof.org is the guy that you're looking for.

Now that my pet peeve of a hill is being disposed of I will direct my peeved attention towards fencing.

I love the tag line in your signature BTW.
