The name is OK. The color is OK. The other celebrations are OK. Announcing a ride called anything else on that day would be OK. But using the day to promote a ride as if it were inspired by the attacks, like a roller coaster was noble or honorable, is not.

Honestly, if you need a holiday or Presidential proclamation as an excuse to show your patriotism, chances are you're a lousy patriot anyway.

The 11th will be jam packed with Kansas City Chiefs coverage.
Can you believe that the Chiefs are going to beat up on a New York team on the 11th?
5. Like I said, I don't have an issue with anything the park is doing except for the timing of the coaster announcement. But, saying "extra special All-American deals" for an event held "in observance of Patriot Day 2005" does not seem like they're doing it for Youth Soccer Weekend.

I thought that was a sure lock for the announcement.
I am guessing, IF they do announce the coaster on that day, most people will see it as a 'tribute' to the events of that fateful day. Some will not.
Regardless, I don't think anyone will remember that they announced the coaster on 9/11 when it opens next spring, nor do I believe that those 'offended' if they do announce it, will remember it next spring either. Honestly, does anyone really think that if they do announce it on Patriot's Day Weekend that there would be any sort of backlash?
IMO, what it all comes down to is 'frame of mind'. If someone is 'looking for a fight', they will find fault with an announcement on that day, if not, they may consider a tremendous way to remember the day.
I brought up the point to see if anyone would view it differently, and I see that some do. Remember, we live in a country that allows us to express our opinions, and that to me is really what it is all about. Let's not forget that.
