As we await an annoucement from the park, track, supports, and other parts for a new B&M coaster have begun to arrive at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The track is blue and yellow, while the supports are maroon. The new coaster is rumored to be floorless.

Hey Joe, dont forget, they have to go for the "Tallest, longest, fastest, and most inverted" floorless coaster. They only need a total of 8 inversions in order to claim the record on a floorless coaster. Why not go for a bunch of records in the process?
I dont think saying for example, "Medusa clone, The Er, Um, Uh, Second Floorless Coaster in the state of California" would work that well.

I feel sick...........more arguments about CP vs. MM.........yeah, ok, so maybe they wanna brag about having the MOST coasters, but that does not put them in competition with CP alone, it puts them in competition with ALL amusements parks. I am sure that MM is more concerned with keeping the peeps away from Knotts and Disney and not CP. So can we please drop the age old comparisons. I live in NJ and I don't see MM advertising here, and I am quite sure they don't advertise in Sandusky either so that's the end of that.........
Last time I checked Ohio was not nearly 3000 miles away either....lol
Wow sfmm is adding another ride, this just sounds great we all know it is going to be big.
One. they have more room than Cedar Point to build a big Ride. ( wow i wish cedar point would of realized that they were running out of space)
Does anyone know what the he!! is going on at busch gardens this year and where shock wave is going. what will happen any one with news inform me.
What about Batman, De Ja Vu and Psycclone? Sure, they have plenty of originality in other coasters like Ninja, Revolution and X, but Magic Mountain isn't against cloning by any means.
Here's hoping for a double zero G roll or a tripple corcscrew.

Frankly I'll settle for one zero-G, my favorite B&M element. In fact the reason I rank Batman Knight Flight last among the floorless I've ridden [all in the US but SFFT's] is that it doens't have "the Kumba thingy."'

I know the CP MM thing is pretty fun to speculate on, and I know they've been hyping it up, but I don't think CP was the reason MM tried to launch 2 coasters in one year or build this new one.
From what I read when Disney's California Adventure opened, the other attractions in the immediate area, Knotts, SFMM, Universal all had to rethink their strategies. Unlike DisneyWorld, Disneyland was really considered a one day passport type attraction. The other parks in the area would woo Disney guests for the remainder of their vacation. When California opened, it sent a shockwave through the community, because Disney was really trying to monopolize peoples vacations - spend all your time in Anaheim. Thus, SFMM opened two very large seductive coasters, and Knotts built Accelerator - huge by their standards, to remain a "viable" option to tourists.
DCA is obvioulsy not what Disney hyped it to be, but it help explains why such a strong reaction. SFMM was simply hyping the most coasters in the world claim to compete in Southern California - not with CP. Unlike Orlando, if Disney beats SFMM, there are no buildable places within 50 miles of the Magic Kingdom. Yes, I know they are different animals.
Turns out, the building boom helped SFMM more than the failure of DCA - the locals love it and are pumping in the cash. So why another coaster - because they now have an angle to whatever Disney can throw them. Disney will never be the "x" treme park with the crazy record breaking rides.
Also, I don't think its a Medusa clone - the rides at SFMM and SFMW are very different, and they had the opportunity to clone between the two parks and they haven't. In the California market, they sell the value of the season pass as being able to enjoy both parks (tv spots). Its hard to make that claim if they are carbon copies....
