But I'm weird because I find movie theming a *HUGE* turn-off. There isn't a single ride at Kings Island themed after a movie I have seen or have a desire to see.
Call it Kings Island Amusement Park. That's enough of a name. If I want to see a movie, I'll go to the theater.

At least PCW has a mountain.
Big whoop. PKD has a volcano. :)
I dunno, lump me in with the purists like millrace who wish the parks could just run under their former name sans Paramount. Let what rides have theming keep them (basically just Top Gun at Carowinds) and move forward. *** Edited 7/10/2005 8:47:13 PM UTC by Homey G.***
I say keep the Paramount name, for the park's sake.
Oh yeah and i really don't care wether they change it or not. *** Edited 7/10/2005 8:55:22 PM UTC by Tycoontitan***
Not only that, but, even though they'd still have all the Viacom properties, why change it from Paramount? It isn't so much about the name, they could call it Carowinds, with small print at the bottom "A Paramount Park", but I personally like them now. People bash the fact that Paramount took over, but to me, the original 'atmosphere' of the parks was lost with KECO, Paramount just tied up loose ends and tried to distinguish the parks from the originals.
I like the parks the way they are now, why change it if they're (obviously) doing well?

The park in Gurnee is the ONE that retains the right to call itself "Great"...;)
The survey questioned only elements related to the park's name. Nothing was mentioned (or should be assumed) about ripping out every bit of themeing that's not a CBS television show. (How in the world would that be in the best interest of anyone?)
The companies are splitting solely to create a "growth" stock out of the Viacom assets...Moonves and Freston aren't getting a "divorce." I'm sure Viacom and the CBS spin-off will continue to have close ties, and will exploit synergistic opportunities when they present themselves (i.e., Viacom-themed attractions at CBS's theme parks...)
Also, remember who'll continue to be the largest shareholder in BOTH companies--Sumner Redstone.

And no one here ever said that we expect them to rip out everything that isn't a CBS show. In fact, I've not seen any rides directly themed after anything CBS.
CBS and Viacom are still going to be pretty interchangable, we know that. Much like when Microsoft 'split', I'd assume. This is a discussion board, we were discussing:).
Edit: spelling and there's probably more mistakes. *** Edited 7/11/2005 3:19:09 AM UTC by TeknoScorpion***
