Ozark Wildcat is Up and Running!

Hi all...I'm new here, but thought I'd give you all an update on GCI's new ride at Celebration City in Branson, MO.

My husband (Jeff Pike) said that the first run was great, and that they are continuing to test the ride.

That's all for now :)

Would you just LOOK at what you've done to CoasterBuzz - you're going to have to clean it up ;)

That is awesome news indeed. The ride looks great, too bad I won't be able to visit until next year :(

Wow, they really hurried up on it. Looks to be a great Coaster! :)

Sorry, Gator...I was watching "American Idol" and witnessing my girl, Vanessa, get voted off my America. WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!

OK...back on topic: good to hear OW is testing. If all goes as planned look for it in S&D Greetings' 2004 coaster calendar ;)

I'll be riding it in early June. I can't wait!

On my way home from the Susquahanna Valley Mall back in November I stopped in at GCI's headquarters and talked to your husband. They were busy getting ready for IAAPA but still took time out to show me around the workshop and office area.

Well, 'Gator, I'm sure you realize I certainly don't get up at 9am for football ;)

Moosh - wishing he was going to make it to Branson this year.

Happy Birthday DawnMarie!!

Saw the GCI crew putting the cars on the track and coupling them up into a train on saturday. Figured they would start testing the OW this week and I can not get down there till the weekend:(
Looked like there is a graphic on the car sides of a big cat scratch in silver or gray that contrasts nicely with the black paint job.
Be sure to watch www.ace18.org for more info on the May event on the second weekend at Celebration City :)

She reminded people too much of that werido "Nikki" from last year. They wanted to make sure that no "artsy" people lasted longer than those with real talent (see Nikki v. Tamyra)

And I havent met a GCI coaster that I didnt like :)

I really liked Vanessa's "spunky" attitude and sense of humor but I knew she wouldn't last. However I agree about Julia...I wanted to see her go, too.

Dammit... I always pull for the freaky chicks, and losing Nikki last year was a bummer too.

Not that I've ever watched that stupid show.

So at this point, is the Wildcat the only woodie we have this year other than the one in Washington?

Yes, Jeff...only two brand new woodies in the US this year, although with all the work being done on Raging Wolf Bobs, Rampage, and Rolling Thunder one could argue those will at least feel new.

FYI, rcdb lists 5 new woodies world-wide.

Well, RT and RWB were at leat running in '02. I count Rampage as *new-ish* since it's coming back from SBNO status...here's hoping the same happens for *that other one* in the West...;)

At least we are getting Rampage back from the dead. I am so excited about Ozark Wildcat opening up in May. I've been droling over this coaster ever since I saw the first track pieces go up in Sept. The Coaster event I attended in Dec really made me droll because I got to see it upclose and personal plus I had ERT on WildFire at SDC.

I wonder what the name of the coaster event gonna be. I am think is should be called Wild Maynia (Maybe not), Because of the 2 Wild Coasters. They are WildFire and WildCat.

Edit- AHH spelling.

Wow, this is cool news. I gotta drive by there Tuesday on the way to SDC, weather permitting of course, I can't wait to get that first Wildfire fix for the year!

Is this coaster a clone of Hershey's Wildcat or either Roar? Thanks.

No, it is a completely original design.

Like Moosh said it's original, and my I add.......it's drop dread gorgeous also. I think this is the most beautiful wooden coaster I've ever seen(I know you woody fans probably disagree) I'm a steel lover here and imo that is one beautiful wooden coaster. It like pure artwork sitting at that intersection lol, now id they would move that billboard over the view and pics would be perfect. Anyawys great Job GCI :O)
