Over/under: When will Steel Vengeance enter the CB 100?

Found it. Fury debuted at #2.

Fury is about to be dethroned. I'm anxious to compare as I will be riding both in about a month time interval.

Me too. I was on Fury just two weeks ago, and will (hopefully) be at the passholder preview on Monday.

So I was just looking at the CB100... I found it interesting that the top 5 are separated by so little. I also find it interesting that the top however many aren’t a solid 5.0. So someone out there rode Millennium Force, Fury, El Toro, and Lightning Rod and didn’t find them to be amongst the best they’ve ridden? Must be some diehard Dragon Wagon fans...

But then again, what do I know?

I'll bet the under.

The first rider event had at least 600 peeps, and a good portion were enthusiast. I Would not be surprised if there is 20-30 votes already.

I thought the same thing too. Maybe some people's scales are skewed and don't give very many 5's?

Jeff should randomly insert a Dragon Wagon and rank it like number 2 or 3 in the CB100 just to screw with everyone.

I rushed straight home and put in 5 stars. Glad to help.

Not gonna lie, I've been on CB a few times during my park visits. Typically, updating my credit count or viewing where a given coaster lays.

Truth told, I forgot to do it until yesterday. Or maybe it was this morning.
And I’m not gonna lie, staring at my device while at Dollywood is what caused me to turn a corner and practically do a flip over a queue rail. I felt like that girl we’ve all seen that took a header into the fountain at the mall.

Moral: don’t txt and wlk. It can wait!

Speaking of the CB top 100, I finally feel vindicated. I have long failed to comprehend why I-305 is ranked no. 35 - it tends to stay in that general range - when it is unquestionably one of the best coasters I've ever ridden.

I thought it was cool to like things that rated low. Like Mindbender....(sorry Gator)

Bobbie, I’m with you on I305. It’s in my personal top ten. However, as opposed to a ride like Fury, I understand why I305 is rated so low. I think there comes a point where a ride gets so intense that it’s off-putting to a lot of people. Brutal intensity is generally worth a lot of points to me, but I’ve accepted that I’m not necessarily in the majority on that.

I, too, went right home after the first rider event and gave the ride 5 stars.... it’s really just THAT good! I rode 4 times and by the end of my final trip I still was not able to predict the ride’s path.
It’s very disorienting and relentless.

In regards to Intimidator 305... YES it is a great ride, but I only 4 Star it because of the brutal intensity. I *cannot* ride this thing without blacking out until after the trick-hop after the second hill. On a hot day, I’m really not trying to do that & when on a coaster I just don’t believe this should happen. With Skyrush, it too only gets 4 stars for be because of the train design. Poorly designed lap bars & trains all around really. On the outer seats the laterals are too “whippy” for me, causing strain on my upper body in seats that have no sides to hold you in place.

Steel Vengeance, however, is better than these and also better than Fury 325. While Fury is a 5 Star coaster, after the turn around I find it to be a snooze fest.

Steel Vengeance is relentless, action packed, start to finish. And it’s my new favorite “ride experience” as Tony Clark says. Millennium Force is still my favorite for sentimental reasons, but Steel Vengeance takes the crown!

Thank God they didn’t put Valravn in after Steel Vengeance or people I think would find it more boring than it is.

The over/under for ranking could only lie at 2 fairly.

The date is open for debate but I'd say place it at June 10.

The best of all the jokers is clearly Mark Hamill.

So if it debuts at #2 it’s a push? Let’s go Vegas style... Over/Under at 2.5.

But then again, what do I know?

I didn't give Millennium Force 5, but just like Otto suspects I am more conservative with the coasters I give that privilege to. Unless a coaster checks all the boxes for me, I usually give it the 4 above average. Steel Vengeance, Fury and El Torro all satisfied my craving for ejector air. Millennium Force does not. I'm glad this thread popped up when I came in to lurk though. It reminded me to update and add Steel Vengeance and Fury (which I somehow forgot to do last summer).

Well 1.5 then.

Acro- So you’re saying #1 or bust...

Two good things about this thread other than the speculation;

1) I actually took the time to read the FAQ about how the ranking system works, and

2) I actually took the time to update my personal track record.

Like Rihard eluded to, I observed that there are very few coasters I give a 5 to; as much as I love MF it also has a 4 on my list. To each their own...which is the point, right?

Promoter of fog.

Welp. After several quality laps on Time Traveler today I also gave it a 5. Hmmm...
Am I too easy? In review it seems I have a lot of “5 Star” rides. I’ve thought about that as long and hard as anybody should, and I guess I’ve determined that if I come across a quality ride that I enjoy I’ll give it a high rating. And I don’t just look at thrill factor, but consider the overall experience including appearance, theme, operations, etc.
I was stopped on a SDC street today by a Springfield reporter and camera man for comments on the event and the new ride. Btw, I’m no shrinking violet so I agreed. The typical questions came one by one and when she got to the one where she asks what my favorite ride is I explained that I don’t keep a list like that or attempt to draw comparisons, but that every park worth it’s salt has at least one ride that deserves overall praise and love from me.
Maybe it’s not the best way to look at things and maybe I’m skewing the results, but that’s pretty much how I roll. Pun intended.

PS. I think Steel Vengeance is my all-time favorite ride, but right now it sure looks like I have it in a tie with Time Traveler... so....
