Ok, what's Holiday World up to?

That's why I said GCI woodie ;)

Well true a GCI would compliment the park, So would a Gravity Group Coaster of which they already consult with for many projects. Not just coasters.

Chuck, who thinks this is cruel and unusual torcher for those of us who already love HW.

I found the part about Raven getting its curves from a change in plans due to trees to be interesting. If it was just a straight shot back to the station, Raven would have been a very different ride. Raven has been a pretty influentual coaster, in my opinion. It is possible if it was not as impressive, other rides would have been different or may not have even been built...sort of like a coaster butterfly effect or something.
probably be another unthrilling woodie. I may go again if they get a intamin jr. hyper.
What if they got a SoB clone?
^ I would be there every weekend:) Then again they would probably trim the life out of it.
They aren't stupid...I think Will will get Clair to build him a wooden monster. For those who have not met Clair, he is one of the nicest and neatest guys to talk to. I'll never forget our walk through of CC when Wildcat was being built. The guy is just full of knowledge and it was neat to see what goes on in his mind when building these things....

So yes, it needs to be a GCII ;)

Unthrilling?? Are you referring to the Raven and the Legend being unthrilling?? Have you even BEEN to Holiday World??

I think Chuck has a good point that GG would be the front runner for a woodie company. From the looks of Hades, I kind of hope it is them building it if they are getting another woodie; although I have faith in GCI and S&S too.
Steel, obviously you haven't been following the Beast Tamer saga.

Obviously not, since I just found this site a couple of days ago. Please...enlighten me! :)

^ I like my coasters fast and intense. a 100' woodie is not thrilling imo. If that is a crime, i am guilty as sin:)

I just noticed there is a 10 post quota, is that just me or everyone? *** Edited 4/22/2005 4:24:44 AM UTC by Beast Tamer***

Just look at the SOB thread on the first page and another one a few pages back. It'll be enough reading to keep you busy the rest of the night and enough head scratching material for the rest of your life.

But to put it shortly, he hates Raven and Legend and thinks they are pieces of poop while his favorite coaster is SOB.

I could make a slightly humorous reply to that, but I believe I will wait until I get a feel for what is and isnt appropriate on this board! LOL

Not steering too far from this forum topic, I think a steel coaster is just what the doctor ordered for HW, but can they really afford it? While most people love the raven and the legend, it never strikes me as a high-profit place. I guess I could be mistaken, but I'm sure whatever they come up with will be great!

HW just doesn't feel like a park that needs to install a huge steel coaster. The same way I don't expect CP to build a small woodie like Cornball Express.

There are several varieties of steel coasters that I would love to see them add, but a huge monstrosity jutting out from the trees is not something I want to see. I would love to see a launched coaster similar to Powderkeg winding it's way through the woods or a mine train.

That said, if they DID build a large steel coaster I'd still go and enjoy myself.

I just think it's cool...no matter what they build...that they are keeping the trees.

Another small, but important, decision that reflects the tremendous HW experience....

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
How about a compromise...a GG mini-hyper woodie with steel supports. :)

It helps that the fellas from Gravity Group have already become acquainted with the park:
http://www.thegravitygroup.com/experience.html

And though I sound like I am repeating what others have pointed out, a long terrain coaster nestled in the woods sounds reasonable, what with the "surgical" removal of trees that Paula hinted at.

I wonder if she will even respond to this thread, or just let us keep building the mystery ourselves. Hell, she's probably kickin back right now just loving how the thread can have 35 responses in 2 hours :)

Seriously though, what could they be adding other than a coaster if they are only removing relatively few trees?

They certainly aren't doing it for a single flat or even a few flats. It could be for a master blaster or another type of water slide. Or they could be starting a whole new area of HW. But I'd think they'd want a big attraction if they are opening up a new 'land'.

I'll say it again, how about a S&S launched terrain coaster that is everything that Rita should have been. Loads of airtime hills and turns twisting through the woods. *** Edited 4/22/2005 4:56:24 AM UTC by Incidentalist***

Well it's no wonder that they started the Blog over at their site - honestly who on here doesn't check it daily? It's addictive! Next I would think they would go with GCII as they seem to be the top tier wooden coaster firm right now. Besides how can you not love their Millennium Flyers? That alone would make me want to build with them.

^The blog has had a couple of entries recently about a new themed area too (including some funny stuff about a Tax Day section).... who knows, that could be it also.
