Not Coaster Songs you associate with coasters

Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train," because this song was used on an Entertainment Tonight piece about new rides (specifically SFMM's Z-Force and PKI's Vortex) in 1987. I had never even heard that song before, but I taped that clip and must have watched it 1,000 times.

A day is a drop of water in the ocean of eternity. A week is seven drops.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds...alright, I'm kidding. Weezer's Keep Fishin' always reminds me of coasters since it appeared in Robb's video this year and I suppose some Zeppelin does the trick too.

I am surprised to hear a lot of people say Zeppelin. I am a huge Zeppelin fan (favorite group) and I have never associated any of their songs with coasters. Most of their music is either too bluesy or too mellow for me to make that connection. I think anything with a good beat or something really intense is good for coaster music. Aerosmith really fit that bill for Rock-n-RollerCoaster which I just rode for the first time last week.

I think that GNR's "Welcome to the Jungle" would be a great coaster song (even though for the most part I despise 80s glam metal). Very intense. You could even put the part where it goes "Do you know where you are? You are in the jungle baby and you are gonna die!!!!" right at the midcourse brakes :)

My Sharona(sp?)- Magnum

Praise You by Fatboy Slim always reminds me of coasters, too

Well, I used to be able to see TTD from my house, then I moved.
Life's not fair.

Fun thread...here's a few that make me think of 'coastering'...I think the titles are self-explanatory on most...

Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough (Michael Jackson, pre-freak days)
Cruel to be Kind (the version from the movie "10 Things I Hate About You")
Just Can't Get Enough (Depeche Mode)
Roll with the Changes (by Champaign natives...there's an REO Speedwagon Way running through town)
Rock-n-Roll Radio (the Ramones...it's all in the intro...I can imagine myself hanging at Coney Island in the 70s)
Girlfriend (Matthew Sweet) it makes me drive too fast, which makes me think of roller coasters
And, of course, anything by this band

:)

thanks moosh, chris, and jeremy!

Yeah, I'm hoping he'll give me a t-shirt or something. ;) I promised I'd be on his "street team" if he was ever in the area, but since he's not touring, this was the best I could do.

A few more songs...

Stay (Dave Matthews Band)
Sin Wagon (Dixie Chicks)
and a "second" for Flagpole Sitta :)

cowboy joe - 'Dope Nose' does it for me off that album. My friend Dennis and I listened to that song over and over again on a trip to Ohio last October.

Others I've thought of.

Suicide - 'Ghost Rider' The song really is a reference to the comic book, but the geek in me thinks of the ride. 'Baby, baby, baby, he's screamin' the truth.'

Flaming Lips - 'Waitin' for a Superman' Not about the ride, but like 'Ghost Rider,' the geek in me makes the connection.

'That was totally mildly amusing.' - Dan Miron on Superman: The Escape

I think the DDR song "The Race" by Captain Jack goes really well with Top Thrill Dragster. The lyrics are here for those that may be wondering:

I'm not sure how I could forget Dope Nose, that's one of my favorite feel good songs. I actually first listened to the album on my way to Knoebels opening day last year, good times.
