NoLimits coaster simulator set for Friday release

Posted | Contributed by Ride_Op

NoLimits, the most authentic and realistic coaster simulation availble to date, has announced the full release will be availible on Friday, November 9.

More information can be obtained at the NoLimits site, including screenshots hinting at what will be in the upcoming release.

I do have some questions about the game and downloading. How much do you think the game will cost? $40.00 my guess. How long will the downloading take? Lastley I'm not sure but what if you start to have problems with the game, how will you be able to fix it with out the CD like most games have? Looking foward to Friday I'm sure he's going to be very busy. I'm also hoping to see Millennium Force and Steel Dragon 2000.

I posted earlier that the cost should be about $25.  How long it takes to download will depend on what kind of connection to the internet you have.  All of the information needed to install and run the game is downloaded in one executable.  You can back that up to a disk or burn it on to a CD as a back up and you now have a CD copy of the game.

Ride Op, what if say, someone forgot to make a backup copy and they lost it? Could they get back the file from the site by entering a unique key code or the like?

Something NEW is coming to the Buzz...
Does anyone know the 8 track types?
You download the file and I beleive that you have to enter it before you run the editor and simulator after they are installed.  I don't know all the final details though.  We will find out soon enough.

B&M Inverted, Sitdown, Stand Up, Floorless, Vekoma SLC, Arrow Looper, Schwarkopf Looper, and Intamin Hyper are the 8 train/track styles.

I was not aware that Intamin Hyper was one of the tracks.

I think it's now safe to say that Friday will be, by far, the most important day to ever exist in the history of the universe.

Try downloading from a different mirror site and running the install again.  It should be a bit over 6 mb after downloading.

ok, so how will I be able to get this game?  what does shareware titles mean?
hey, does anyone know about any hope for a mac port? i know, now's where you all laugh at me for having a mac, but i didn't buy it for the sake of rollercoaster sims. but, you would think with macs having incredible 3d capabilities, there'd be some interest for coaster sims. does anyone else have this gripe?

~ryan, tired of playing RCT on a windows emulator... =)

It will surpass RCT as far as coasters go, but as far as the Amusement park it self, RCT is the way to go.  Plus, if RCT does come out with another expansion pack or and RCT 2, than who knows what will be on that.
villege12:  Shareware means that the initial download is free, but not all of the functions of the program will work unless you pay and enter in a registration code.

nelson324:  Ole has mentioned that a Mac version is possible, but he would have to get some Macs to test it on first.  For now it's only a PC game.

NoLimits and RCT are completely different games.  RCT focuses more on building lots of coasters in a park, but has limited options on how you can build them.  NoLimits focuses on just one coaster at a time, but allows much more freedom in building your coaster.

I've played the demo and it is awesome. The only thing I wish I had was sound. Can someone please tell me if the sounds are actually real.

I have a laptop and no internet and Does anyone know how to get the game to my laptop.

i was wondering if you could make the 310 foot drop like on Millennium Force at 80 degrees. Then i was wondering if you can make the 122 degree over banked turns. Lastly all i am getting is the read me on the download. Could someone please try and answer my questions.

Thanks

Yes you can make Millenium Force, and it is one of the included tracks.  About the only limitation is the giant box you have to build it, but other than that you can do just about anything you want within it.

Try this:  delete everything you have downloaded about NoLimits.  Now click on this link to download the demo.  http://rcr.csun.edu/karld/NLDemo09Setup.exe  Save this file somewhere you can remember it, then double click to install the program.  If this doesn't work I have no idea how to help you.

I think I may have figured out your problem.  After the program installs it displays the readme file.  It does not automatically start.  To run the program click on Start, Program Files, NoLimits Demo, then choose either the Simulator or Editor.  If you'd like to know how the editor works then choose the Techincal Guide from that same menu.
