No re-entry at Sux Flags this Year

No way.

What about a thunderstorm? Sorry...can't go out to your cars!

This one looks just about ready to be put out of its misery... or hijacked. ;)

Is Sux Flags related to Microshaft?
It is interesting the way that this is being leaked.

I wonder if this is a trial balloon.

If so, I think it's been shot down with extreme prejudice. I can't imagine Six Flags doing this kind of thing for more than a day or two.

My Guess: Shapiro was misquoted. What he really said was, "People won't want to leave" or something to that effect.

But no leaving and re-entering? NOT. GONNA. HAPPEN.

Hey, if he can make the Six Flags parks so that people won't want to leave, then he will have truly succeeded in doing what needs to be done. Accomplish that, and the money problems will fix themselves.

Thing is...does he know how to do it?

--Dave Althoff, Jr.

It couldn't possibly be true. The costumer backlash would be devastating to SF's business. Return visits would drop drasticly.

I don't believe it for a second. Not even SF is THAT stupid.

"Hey, I need to go to my trunk to get more cash out of my wallet".

"Sorry sir, you are not allowed to come back in and spend more money once you leave".

This rumor is hilariously bad. :)

Better yet:

"Sir, may I go to my car and get my Mom's insulin? She's a diabetic."

"Yes, but you can't come back into the park once you leave so take Mom with you."

Not only is the rumor hilariously bad but I can't believe [although maybe I shouldn't be shocked] that some people actually think it's true!

I went to Magic Mountain yesterday (Sunday Jan 8, 2006) and I left the park because I needed my jacket and I came back into the park with no problem. Personal opinion on the thread is that this was one of those lets see what will happen if I say this kind of thing.

And to AJrides

Before you call someone out of their name, please make sure you don't make yourself look like an A$$ because you are too slow to understand why people call Six Flags Sux Flags.

SUX = Sucks just in case you are still too slow! *** Edited 1/9/2006 3:41:56 PM UTC by Magicmike***

Moosh, remember last year at Visionland (RRR), they were implementing a policy where if your CAR left their lot, you were supposed to pay to re-park...

As we were attending the EVENT, we were allowed to re-park without paying, but I think VL was really going to give that policy a shot...

And I think THAT may be what SF is thinking about....and even though it's a potential PR nightmare, it is theoretically do-able.

Due to Parker's thought, here's the reason I'm willing to *consider* the "no re-park policy"....SFNJ would be the IDEAL park to try it out.

On the parking tickets at Michigan's Adventure it says you have to pay to re-enter if you leave thier lot.

Always thought that was a bad policy, but never had any reason to leave the park and return anyhow.

MiA is similarly *positioned*....if you're far enough away from "town", people are less likely to leave and come back. Something that worked in VL's favor as well.

Nonetheless, PR-wise, it's near-disastrous to charge someone $10 to park, give them a ticket for a parking space, and then tell them it's not valid for the entire day...

Scratch that, it's not near-distatrous, it IS disastrous. If implemented, the price paid by the parks in terms of bad customer relations will FAR outweigh any benefit in double-parking-fees.

Hey, I thought Kings Islands Winterfest parking for $5 was more in line with what it should be normally!

Chuck, still jilted four years later from WOF charging 13.50 for a roll of film.

People remember bad vibes, sadly, much longer than the good ones sometimes.

I agree. This would certainly help with the drinking and drug problems throughout the day in the parking lot. It would also reduce in-park security related issues and make for a much better park experience for those that weren't ticked off over the no rentry policy to begin with.

However, I'm fairly certain this is just a rumor.

I could see them adopting that policy for the parking lot. That would keep people from zipping over to the closest fast food place for lunch. I know that's what we do.

I'm not sure how it is in other parts, but around my city no in and out privileges is a standard condition in any pay parking lot - downtown, suburban, or anywhere else. I don't think public perception would be that bad because when it comes to pay lots most people don't think they are allowed in and out anyway.

Not gonna happen. But, if it did, lets just say Valleyfair! would become my new home park and I like in the Milwaukee metro area.

Certain victory.

If it were true, It would only be to curb the Fast Food escape that we all like to do because the food in the park is either over priced, or just simply not good enough to eat. But that is a nightmare in the making if it were to really materialize. *** Edited 1/9/2006 11:27:45 PM UTC by Magicmike***
