Also, if SF runs their concessions the way the Redskins run their stadium, you will see every register open, with someone ringing it. Also, look for concessions to be farmed out. Those items that aren't nationally branded will be farmed out to a stadium conessionaire like Centerplate Concessions. amusement park like a football stadium, SF will do it.

The writer from Motely Fool probably wasn't even interested in theme parks or coasters. He used the story to show how crazy internert rumors can spread about companies. When he found out it was true and he hadn't done enough homework to make sure it was just a rumor in his first article (didn't feel he had to since it was so "ridiculous") he wrote another lambasting Six Flags.
Longtime Fool contributor Rick Munarriz loves to take his family to new amusement parks every summer. He practices what he preaches as he owns shares in Disney and units in Cedar Fair. ...
Munarriz is the one who writes these amusement industry business articles all the time, and for a good reason: it's an interest of his ;)
As stated, this policy is (as of now) not going to be in place in parks, but you can bet that it's still on the table ;)
Many parks PR and Marketing reps read boards and TR's of enthusiast sites. Not just Paula
I once got a email from a crew of a coaster that I gave rave reviews too. The Parks PR printed out the TR. Gave them all a star for good service and the crew posted in the station house.
So, Being fair and honest in your critisisms and praise is a good policy.
Most of the time if there were a serious problem. I'd take it up with them in person before ever mentioning it on the net.
Am I saying a enthusiast should be taken more serious than any other guest? HELL NO! but sometimes they can get insight by reading people comments about their park on the boards and in the TR's.
Like my TR about Mt. Olympus. I praised almost everything about the park and people but when they let you on the coaster and you sit down, strap on your seatbelt and they tell everyone to get out. It's 9:30. The rides closed. They deserved that critisism they got.
Bad policy= negative feedback.

Six Flags won't live this one down for the next 10 years! ;)

No I'm not. ;)

I'm sure they do. In fact, I know they do. In fact, I know they read this very board. I just suspect that they don't read it for decisions on how to run their park.

Yeah, but they passed it along because it was good feedback, not because you were an enthusiast. If my Grandma wrote a letter, I'm sure the praise would be passed along just the same.
So, Being fair and honest in your critisisms and praise is a good policy.
Obviously.

Understatement of the year. :)

Again, I'm sure they do. However, there's a difference between feedback on performance and making a company-wide decision that will affect everything from attendance to revenue and beyond based on what is being said by a limited number of very specific people on a few message boards.
Yes, they read the feedback. No they don't make those kind of major decision changes without a much larger production.

And did that policy change? I'm guessing no. There's no doubt your comments were read and considered, but they didn't make a major decision that would change the way the company is run based on your dislike - otherwise we'd be reading headlines like:
"Charles Nungester named new president of Mt. Olympus" ;)

Did this change that quick?
Nearly 11K peeps have read this thread.
11K peeps that are likely to visit a park in the upcomming months.
OK sue me, some of the 11K are die hard SF bashers that have clicked the link 100 times all by themsevles. In the end, you still end up with a lot of peeps seeing the thread.
How many peeps saw the MF articles from other sources besides CB? My WAG is there might be 50K+ hits on the MF articles.
And, a majority of the MF hits will be peeps with $$$ to invest.
I think CB, and its members made a difference.
I think CB, and its members, have put the new SF team on notice, and REAL changes could come of it.
IMNSHO and YMMV,
Thanks!

Hey, spend *your* time doing whatever you like. ;)
to quote Bono: "it's not me theyre afraid of, it's our audience." (refers to why politicians are so keen to help him in the debt reduction campaign.)
think about it. if every one of us on here told everyone we know about this, what would the ultimate numbers add up to??
i know *I* have told everyone *I* know who goes to SFGAm about it...

Uh...no. That 11,000 views is not counts of how many people viewed this thread. It is the number of times this thread has been viewed.
A view is counted as how many times it has been clicked on. That click can be to view page 1 or page 10 or anything in-between.
Also, this thread has been around for eight days already and I know I have viewed this thread at least four times a day to see the "latest updates" because I try not to miss any posts in threads I am interested in. I am sure many others do the same thing.
So, in all actuality, I seriously doubt the number of individuals who viewed this thread to be much higher than 1,000...if that much.

Shapiro: Okay... put this on the websites. No Re-entry to the parks.
Computer Guy : Surething Boss. [type type type]
Shaprio: Now go onto Coaster Buzz.
Computer Guy: Surething Boss. [type type type]
Shapiro: [reading the posts... laughs] They bought it. Okay, now put this on the sites... Re-entry with certain types of tickets.
Computer Guy: Surething Boss. [type type type]
Shapiro: Now go back to Coasterbuzz... [laughs again] Oh my God these people are easy... they bought that one too... [laughs again]. Okay... now this... hmmm... let's see... NO Reentry...
Computer Guy: Surething Boss [type type type]
Shapiro: now go back to Buzz... [laughs histerically... wipes tears from his eyes] This is better than pretending to throw a ball to your dog, but you don't really throw it but your dog jerks his head and looks for it... [laughs again] This is even more fun than that. Now let's see... Re-entry will be permitted, but only if you leave a blood sample and your first born...
Computer Guy: Surething Boss [type type type]
Shaprio: Quick... now back to the coaster site. [laughing uncontrollably] They bought it... they bought it. Oh my God... how dense can these geeks be!
Computer Guy: What next Boss?
Shapiro: [Regaining his composure] I don't know... you try one.
Computer Guy: Surething Boss. [type type type]
Shapiro: [reads what computer guy put on the SF sites] "Blood samples and first born children are NOT required for re-entry... nor are handstamps. Park guests that wish to re-enter must have the Six Flags logo branded onto their forehead..." [falls off his chair laughing] *** Edited 1/16/2006 4:00:44 PM UTC by SLFAKE***

The Redskins already have a sponsorship deal with Papa Johns so this doesn't surprise me. However, I don't think Papa John's is what's sold at conecssion stands in the stadium.
A day at the park is what you make it!
