No Coaster Con 2k2 Recap

Well I hope that you are right, because it would be nice to have that ride back.

Alot of you are getting your hopes up for nothing. It's true that Michelle did not come out and say that Tidal Wave wouldn't be coming back, but she also did not give ANY indication that it ever would.

I think it's pretty much the standard answer you'll get whenever you ask about a future ride installation. Nothing is planned at this time but you never know what might happen in the future. I doubt we'll ever see Tidal Wave operating at SFGAM again. I'd be happy to be wrong about this because I absolutely loved the ride. I just don't see it happening.

Were there any construction pictures from Tomb Raider: The Ride? I would like to see the progress on the site, since its been early november since the last pictures were seen from the site.

I`ve ridden Son of Beast 67 times!

They showed a picture of the entrance as it was a few days ago and they had a video by the construction but oyu couldnt tell much. All they revealed about the ride is its "Heavily Themes Totally Immersive Dark Ride Adventure", and it was revealed in the question time that the ride will go fast, 54" height limit and will have 3d/4d effects no glasses. thats all

An update of sorts - PKI held an event last night from 10pm-Midnight to kick off their 30th anniversary year and to debut their 30 year retrospective video. It was a neat video covering the park and it's history (even mentions the Bat) and has a brief segment on TR:TR. I wonder how much it will sell for?

Will the video be sold in the park and about how long was it? I've been waiting for PKI to put out a video like this since CP, Disney, and Universal have been putting them out for years.

Also about PKI, did they give any hints about any other attractions this year or in the future and was anything said about SOB(new trains, tunnels, etc.)? Thanks.

I'm glad the bridge by Deja Vu will open so the trolls will come back during Fright Fest.

KoasterKing, from what I can remember (I had a few adult beverages at the party last night) it will be on sale at the park. It was about 30 minutes in length.

As far as sneak previews of upcoming changes at the park, no - other than TR:TR (and that was no more "concrete" than what we know now).

From what I understand, the 30th Anniversary video won't be for sale. While I think it would do well if it were sold, I don't think the park had intentions of selling the video but to rather let us check it out and use it for other park purposes. I agree with you about the TR:TR mock video. Easily the funniest video of the event IMO...........and there were a lot.

No news on Son Of Beast. The park concentrated more on throwing us a bone or two about TR:TR. If the outside picture they showed us is any indication what theming of this ride will be look like inside, there are going to be a LOT of impressed folks.

Sean, I think they may have decided to say nothing re: SoB so as not to steal any thunder from TR:TR. Considering the work has been ongoing with Sonny, I'm still hoping PKI figures out some way to iron out the top of that second hill. All other modifications to trains/track pale in comparison IMO. Get that bump worked out, and SoB will be fine for years to come...and get BETTER once some landscaping grows in...

No, nothing was said about Cajun Cliffhanger or Power Dive. I would not expect to see the rumored ferris wheel either.

Déjà VuSFGAm, I do recall reading in another recap that Michelle confirmed Cajun Cliffhanger's permanent absence.

**EDIT** I have found the site. It was UpsideDowner's post on Danimation. Since Danimation does not allow linking, I'll quote his exact words..."Michelle also confirmed that the Cajun Cliffhanger will not return for this year. " I believe him to be a fairly reliable source, so take it at face value if you wish.

She did not say anything about that ride. You may be thinking of www.rideop.com who has officially announced its absence but they arent affilitated with the park so what you believe from them is fine, but they have announced things before that have later turned out to be true, they ahve yet to announce false information.

the trolls were over by Cajun Cliffhanger. They had the headless horseman soundtrack playing. I heard it all the time while working East River Crawler.
