No 2006 Coaster for Cedar Point

2006 - New Attraction - Rumor - (12/24/04) The latest information I’ve heard seems to indicate that any plans for a new coaster for 2006 are now either off or delayed until 2007. The park has something else in mind it seems.

I think screamscape is pretty reliable, so that means CP will probably get another flat ride for 2006 and then let Kinzel go out with a bang with a record breaker in 2007.

I have found Screamscape pretty unrealiable. I seem to remember someone telling me that WWL was going to be taken out and a flier was going in in it's place. Is the lemon chill man on winter break does anyone know? *** Edited 12/24/2004 6:08:38 PM UTC by Fastball84***

Wow, thats something I'd thought I'd never ever hear...

Screamscape gets it right sometimes, but I've found that when they get it right, other lesser know rumor sites had it posted long before screamscape. Its not a bad sight, but they'll report anything as rumor, and I could make up more reliable rumors myself.

What can you bank on? That eventually CP will get a new flat and Coaster. When? When they feel the market is ready. They do a pretty good job of adding something of decent size every year. Millie in 2000. Wicked Twister in 2002. TTD in 2003. Plus, they added a Major Indoor water park, next year they're adding a major flat.

Why people get so cought up in What CP is adding next year is still beyond me. Weren't they running out of room or something?;)

I could see another good big Flat good for Cedar Point. That why they can look around and not rush to build the next big coaster.

Cedar Point will always add something to please you people anyway...and if they don't add something that will, be happy that you got one of the top coaster collections on the planet!

Agreed with Tekno.....Screamscape as a whole is unreliable. (Wicked Twister was over 400 feet tall just a week or two before it was announced, for example.) I read it...I admit. I have since 1998/1999. But don't put much stock in ANYTHING labeled as rumor.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.

These CP speculation threads are becoming a weekly occurrence, and each time they become less and less interesting.

We'll let this one get out of control as my holiday gift to you. :)

Well, I'm sorry I got everybody worked up. I haven't been on this site for a while so I didn't know about the other threads concerning CP in '06. Anyways, everybody have a Merry Christmas, I'm going to Christmas Eve services!

Everyone knows that for 2006 CP will be connecting TTD and MF to make the worlds first and only Giga-Rocket. It will also make it the world's longest. Of course that will make their total only 15 coasters, but they will also be splitting Gemini's tracks apart so they can count it as 2 coasters.

Soggy of course that's what they are planning on doing!! You hit the nail on the head. I don't know why we didn't think about this one before!

I just read on SreamRide! that the reason CP is telling everyone and their dog that they aren't getting a new coaster in '06 is because they are actually getting two! Sorta their apology to all the emgees for not adding one in '05.
The first is to be a 494 foot tall wooden Wild Mouse, called Jerry's Juiced-up Jalopies. It will feature a first drop of almost 700 feet, as you tunnel 205 feet underground. And you know what the best part is? Buzz bars are the single restraining device!
I don't know about anyone else but this sounds like the best thing since sliced bread.:)

Additionally, look for Mean Streak to be torn down to make room for a standing, inverted woodie which you'll ride...facing backwards!!. No lift hill here folks, as LIMs launch you out of the station at 124 mph, then up a 531 foot vertical hill, after which you spend the rest of the ride dodging in and out of JJJ's structure. It's to be named Tom's Terrific Trip.

After these additions, the park expects that all the enthusiass whining about the lack of great wood in the park to cease.

Whoa wait a minute, I thought they were adding the standing bobsled coaster launched at 300 mph by hydraulics up out of the Earth's atmosphere! They are calling it Space Balls: Free Klingon!

Now....I gotta drink some more eggnog! ;)
