OTSR don't look like they would be to fun on this ride, as someone mentioned earlier, the twist down looks like it might hurt.
Personally, I think that the park area, "The Animal Kingdom" or whatever there calling it, will not look that good in person. Nor will the coaster itself. Mostly, because Six Flags always makes things out to be better then they really are. I'm actually debating going there or not this summer, because I feel that coaster will not be up and running, and I will be let down.
So all I'm trying to say is don't get your hopes up people and start booking reservations right away, because I don't think that whole area will be 60% finished by opening day next year.

Do they have to cram the OTSR's into you like they do the lap bars on TTD? If they don't, I would think it would be better with the OTSR's... more "airtime" room...
That's a good point Kip. Maybe the airtime on this thing is going to be absolutely outrageous and lap bars would have actually prevented you from getting the true feeling they were going for. This way you can truly feel weightless and float quite a few inches out of your seat for the entire hill. Wow. *** Edited 9/29/2004 7:08:38 PM UTC by MrX***
Well all I can say is that Six Flags damn well better live up to the images and animation for the ride and Golden Kingdom...if they're planning something huge like this, the addition of a whole new big coaster, big section...it's going to take a small army to build this and have it all ready for next year...it's a make or break deal for Six Flags, in my mind...it could make Six Flags a world-class "destination"...or it could be a nice, tall 400+ ft. black eye for the park.
On a positive side...at least the Batman side of Chiller should be re-opening this weekend :)
Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger
I don't think I'd go to New Jersey for this ride alone, but I think an argument could be made that SFGAdv really does have the best coaster collection in the world now (whether it is well run and maintained is another question). But with the 4 good looking B&Ms, Chiller and now Kingda Ka, I'd say they have a very solid lineup.

Yep, sign me up for Jersey in 05!
...just not really a fan of the name? Not that it matters. *** Edited 9/29/2004 7:51:41 PM UTC by IBsteve***
Coming this spring 2005, the blockbuster movie of all time: Kingda Ka vs Dodonpa
That's right folks, people are already lined up in anticipation of the biggest battle we will see, evene beating out Anakin and Obi-Wan in Star Wars 3.
It's the White Tiger vs the Japenese Dragon, who will come out victorious? Find out next spring, coming to an amusement park near you!!!!!!!
Special cameo appearances from infamous emgees: Captain Obvious eating pancakes, Tekno Scorpion, Lord Gonchar, Coaster "oh many orgasms"queenTRN, and many more.
Haha, wouldn't that be hilarious though.
Skol Vikings
Let's shoot us some deer Joe Joe!!!!

About the over the shoulder restraints. The problem is not in the discomfort or in the lack of airtime. The problem lies in the feeling of asking yourself before you ride is this little lap bar going to hold me in during the drop. Going down 400 feet on TTD only a lapbar freaked me out the first time. With Harnesses it would not be as exciting.
I wish Six flags good luck with the ride although I must admit I am mad CP will lose the record.

I am slightly more interested in Kingda Ka than Dragster, but not as interested as I was in Xcelerator and Storm Runner. Of the four, Storm Runner is what I'd make a special trip to ride as it offers more. Dragster and Ka? If I'm in the area and the parks are open, I'll go.
mOOSH - wasn't that worth the wait? ;)

You won't see me coming...
It won't be that much different than TTD, just thirty feet taller with a bunny hill.
I will be interested to see how the whole "Golden Kingdom" looks come opening day. I doubt they will put in all of that landscaping, even if they do, they won't maintain it.
Also, did anybody notice the trees blowing as the train went by? I doubt they would plant trees that close to the track, a limb might come off and smack somebody in the face.
I agree, and Hershey is on my list for next year. Besides, it's not different enough from Dragster to take the chance on it or put up with that park. That would be time better spent crossing PA, starting at Dorney, and hitting all of those parks I've yet to visit.
