New trains for RWB!

Yup, you heard right.. Along with the full retracking, the first cars of a Guestler train are being put on.. Just go to www.refreshinglook.com for the pics... I don't like the Gtrains too much, but maybe they will improve the ride somewhat, since I love those old trains :(

I'm not a big fan of the G-Trains, but I guess they will probably track better than the old trailered PTCs. Does that mean SFWoA will only have one train on RWB???
Well, it's been rumored for a while, about time they go ahead and try it out.

I think it'll be an improvement, but we'll see.

Yea, WoA has three Gtrains, one is now on RWB, the other two on Villain... HOPEFULLY.

Did they replace the Braking system on RWB? I am wondering this becasue G Trains have blade trim brakes and the PTC's they had on it used the Skid Brakes, or are the G-Trains being retrofitted for the skid brakes?

Well this is great news. The g trains arent or weren't that horrible on Twisted Sisters, Legend, or Villian so this shoudl definitely be an improvment.

I am really looking forward to the riding again now.

A new experience = a new credit!

chris, just might break 200 this year, after all. ;)

I imagine that they changed the braking system to fins. It'd probably be easier then retrofitting the train. However that third train has been in storage so long they might have had time to change it to be able to use skids.

Question of the day is "will they only run one train on RWB, or is a second Gerstlauer on the way?"

You know that there is a G Train that Holiday World once used that they could buy.

They only ever run one PTC Moosh. This is WOA we are talking about. All those extra trains are just to look pretty. ;)

I want to say this now, that I was a fan of Wolf Bobs before with the old PTC trains. I want to say that I knew her before she was famous :)

Brent - there could have been a good reason for running only one PTC. Odds are RWB got a new computerized braking system to accomodate the G-trains fin brakes, I don't see why they would not have made a 2-train op possible at that time.

SFWoA didn't have to spend the money to give the coaster a face lift. Give them a little credit here. Let's wait and see what happens this season before we bash the park.

The good news: The Gerstlauer will run a lot better than the PTC did.

The bad news: The Gerstlauer train will run decent, but it will ride like crap. Just like the ones on Villain do.

I'm also not thrilled at losing yet another set of double-bars in Ohio. Screechin' Eagle, Tornado, Teddy Bear, Beastie, Sea Dragon and Big Dipper are the only wood coasters left in Ohio with drop-down lap bars, and Beastie, Teddy Bear, and Sea Dragon are all junior trains. :(

On my trip to SFWOA on the day after Coaster Mania last year, I swear they were running 2 trains on RWB. I only hope the G Trains on RWB will not make it too rough. That coaster is a lil to twisted for G trains I think, because their lap bars hit your legs like a crow bar.

G trains have never bothered me. Not even on Legend or Twisted Sisters. I will say this is an improvement without a doubt. This is basically going to be a new coaster.

Moosh I am giving WOA credit but I still doubt two train op very much of the time. The other PTC train was always just sitting there and 75 percent of the time Villian and ST's second trains just sit there while there is a 40 minute line.

It's a walk on usually with one train anyway, no real reason to have two running. However this change will hopefully bring popularity back to RWB. I just want to know when the wolf is gonna come back!

No new G-Trains were bought by SFWoA this year. I think they are going to only run the spare Villain train.
Great! RWB is such a fine looking coaster not to ride better than it has in the past. I've never had a problem with the G-trains except on Cheetah, but I'm hoping everything will work out and it will be running as well (I like Villain being a little 'rough' ;)) as the other two wooden thrillers at the park.

Even if SFWoA wanted to run 2 trains on RWB, I'm sure they wouldn't buy Legend's train, because if you look at its design, it looks completely different from the typical G-train with its lack of the classic-styled black bars. In fact, from far away I've always thought Legend's g-train looked like a PTC.
