That's the funniest thing I've read in awhile! That song is about 4 years old, and wasn't good when it came out. They used to play it as a preshow song at Sea World and at all those lame Disney DJ party things they set up for special events.
Other than the song, I think the commercial is pretty bad. For all the money spent on an advertising agency, they should have gotten something way better. Although, I'm partial to the old SFMM, people wearing sunglasses on the coasters commercials. I remember when Freefall and Shockwave first opened, those commercials were the coolest!

Yes I know that! I used to dance to it at the club.
Guess could have been more clear. Up to date meaning, Hip dance music, modern sounding. I was not referring to the actual age, but rather the style.
Matt - Thanks for contributing such important data!

Joe, has liked the Vengaboys since late 1998 and still would listen to them today...but I like good music, unlike Matt!

Markieb: You're welcome! I love contributing important data, especially when others appreciate it so much.
ApolloAndy: Shame on you! As a DJ (assumed from your profile pic) you should definately be up on your music. Try anything off of Moving Shadow or West End Records, or stuff by DJs like Dimitri from Paris or Rob Playford. You can get some schooling at Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music.

I mostly stick to Positiva and Vandit/Mute (whatever PvD decides to produce on), but I just get whatever my local record store has in stock, regardless of label.

Cedar Point -How an amusement park should be run.
Jacob: I was orignally searching for the release date for the Vengaboys first CD. After a more thorough investigation, I found that this song was, in fact, released in December of 1998. Kudos to Joe! In my own defense, my original post said "about 4 years", so I was not claiming to be the Vengaboys expert.
Either way, I still think the commercial is definitely under par for a respected advertising agency. It's what I should have expected from Six Flags. I was expecting to be blown away by this new campaign. I guess a low budget only goes so far.
Apparently, I'm in the minority here, so good job Six Flags (and boo to all you sitting back not wanting to get flamed).

I'll agree with you, I don't like the commercial at all - but I was withholding my opinion because these obviously won't be the only commercials made for this season. Anyone here old enough to remember the commercial when Shockwave opened at SFGAm? Now THAT was an awesome commercial!

BOOM.
Joe, not lame.
