All of us wondered what the new marketing company would come up with. Here it is:

We were even supposed to get new uniforms that say "its play time" on them this season. Oh well, I hope we dont get the god awful CP uniforms. They are really ugly.

Its not bad, but it does start out a little slow. It definitely appeals to the urge to have fun instead of work.

Replace the "old" guy with Big Red, and then you've got a commercial.

Overall, I think it is an improvement of last years. I've been watching the commercial over and over trying to figure out which park it was filmed at. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Magic Mountain. However, my point is, it can grow old quickly.

And we wonder why non-enthusiasts think we're about 1 1/2 rungs above Trekkies ...

Your Impulse-ive social commentary for the day :)

While the old boy creeped me out a bit, it was that one guy's manboobs that made me a bit uncomfortable ;)

I wonder if that will be a national ad (seeing as though they make it a point not to "show" a specific park)?

Thanks for the link!

Im guessing it'll be a national roll-out, with the generic Six Flags bus replaced by whatever regional park (via: comuter graphics, of course) is being advertised, as well as some of the footage of the regional park itself.

Not bad, but I still got the one song "I dont wanna grow up, I just wanna have fun" song still stuck in my head from last years or the year before's feature advertisement campaign.

I don't know. I kind of liked the SF commercials with the musicians singing while showing coaster footage.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

The customization is in the graphic at the end (Six Flags remains the same but "Over Georgia" is added for example) and the inclusion of 1 or 2 rides specific to the park.

Georgia's been running the ad campaign since the last week of February and it shows Acrophobia & a quick shot of Superman. They've just rolled out another ad about Season Passes with a similar theme.

And there are a few "it's play time" shirts on new employees - slogan is on the sleeve - but surprisingly they omit the SF logo. *** Edited 3/15/2004 7:47:41 PM UTC by gamndbndr***

SFOG did get those new uniforms. The shrits are like Carribean Blue and we wear khaki pants. The shirts are rather sad......They don't even say six flags on them anywhere. The have a logo on the left sleeve that looks remotely like the ACE logo, and then it says "It's Playtime" that's it..........

You're right. It is Magic Mountain. You can clearly see icons from that park. The structure that holds the "Six Flags" logo when guest enter the "park" is actually the Gotham City Backlot portal. The first coaster shown when they "get to the park" is Colossus. In two scenes, you can clearly see portions of The Riddler's Revenge (most clearly the last scene where it shows an overhead shot - Riddler is at the very top of the shot). The Batman in the commercial is grey track and grey trains - a differenciating characteristic of Magic Mountain's inverted. The park's Bugs Bunny World Canyon Blaster kid coaster is also shown.

We in the south are a bit ahead in this game. Since our season starts ealier, we have been seeing the commercial awhile now.

We at the AW board, had a small debate about it, and overall think it is a very good campaign. The music is up to date, and it's an unusual tie in for an amusement park.

I beleive you will find that it is a national commercial. Every park will run it with their name on top of it.

I don't know, but I will assume all the parks will do the same as AW.

Each area of the park has it's own theme music playing. A few minutes before each hour all speakers in the park play the NEW SIX Flags theme song from the commercial.

It really is clever, and I think the commercial is a hoot.

What color were the original uniforms for SFOG ride ops?

Perhaps SFA will also see new staff uniforms this season as well, they've been wearing green shirts since 99....as for the commercials I still have yet to see any & we've got less than 3 weeks to go till opening day.

They usually start running ads in late february or early march for season passes but this is a first that they're advertising late.

The uniforms are supposed to be corporate wide. So you will probably get them at SFA. Every department at SFWoA was going to wear these. Before each dept had its own color, rides red, park services teal, games and retail blue, etc... Oh well. Wondering what i'll be wearing now lol. :)

Elitch Gardens is going with the blue shirts uniforms, instead of the different colors for each department, as well. So, it being corporate wide sounds correct. I'm going to miss park services bright lime green shirts. It's going to be hard to get used to, sometimes if someone had a problem, we could ask the color of the employee's shirt and know which department they worked in.

I like this idea. I hope this added to other parks as well.
