New Screenshots 4/17/04

Here are some new screenshots that I don't think anyone has psted yet.

The 4D coaster actually looks pretty good to me and is very detailed. There are only a few spots were the transitions are really rough, but other than that it looks great. I am really liking the looks of this game.

Riders facing forward on the 4D lift? That's an error right there ;).

Maybe its just me, but the new graphics look really dumb...I like the old ones better..
Yeah, I think it's just you...everyone and their mother were screaming that they wanted a 3D environment for RCT2.

I think it looks great. I like the zoomed out shot from the top of the Thrust Air. I was just looking at that pic closer and it appears to me that they have Vertigo right beside the TA2K! In one of the other pics I think I saw one of those swings with the fins on the back of them (I forget their names). Keep the screen shots coming! *** Edited 4/17/2004 10:24:21 PM UTC by CPgenius***

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
No, it's really not just one person. I think it looks exceptionally boring and silly.

Well, you guys are in the vast minority. It's supposed to be cartoony, and I'm glad that they are expanding the game to a 3D environment.

I agree with CPgenius I think the game will rule I was one of those people screaming for a 3D RCT and Zoo Tycoon.

And with all of the crying you'll all buy it anyway.

I think that we also have to keep in mind that this game is geared towards kids and the GP and not so much for enthusiasts like No Limits is. Either way I think this game still looks very fun and I know I am going to play it. The only thing that I have a problem with is all of the scenery. Kind of reminds me of Sim Theme Park.

I think it looks pretty cool - assuming the RCT gameplay doesn't change. I'll leave it at that for now.

The second screenshot has that South American, Incan god staue thingy from WW.

I wonder how many of the scenery pieces (especially from the addons) were modeled in 3D and converted for the addons. I seem to remember reading somewhere that much of RCT (and RCT2's) graphics were originally done in 3D. Makes me wonder how much of that is going to be slapped in as scenery pieces for this.

Or was that the plan all along and the WW and TT addons were just attempts to cash in and gauge response to the items?

Just thinking aloud (or in text).

And yes, it does look like an Aboslutely Insane (or VertiGo) ride in the one screen shot.

I for one don't care that it's cartoony. I play to build the parks, and if had to deal with the absolute realism of running a park then i wouldn't play the game at all.

One thing that i did notice in the one screen shot is that the tea cup ride looks like a unique ride with a roof like WDW's tea cup ride. I would like to see it in action to know whether or not it is a repainted scrambler, but it does leave some hope of new content.

I think this games looks as bad as the sim theme park game. But I guess that'll happen after you play a game with more realistic graphics like Hyper Rails and no Limits. But i'll still buy rct3 ;)
I just noticed that the 9th screenshot is at dusk which may mean that there will be a night mode. Or it could just be wishful thinking by me

Duh yea ;), I'm just saying that I like the old graphics better.

The graphics look really N-64-ish. I don't understand why the graphics can't be as good as they are in X-box. I mean, I know some PCs couldn't handle it, but it would be nice. Or if they just made one for X-box that would be great. Too bad I don't have any platforms to play it on.
Looks like it's coming along nicely, and I see the banked drops I wanted, so I'm happy. :)

Wow...all those new shots looked great. Well...the wood coaster behind the stunt show looked awfully funky! And yeah..the 4D has the riders facing the wrong way.

The woodie I can live with, but I hope they turn the 4D around. Everything else was awesome though. I especially liked that huge Moroccan looking building with the coaster running through it. Beautiful. Can't wait.

N64 ish? I don't think so. If you want it to look incredibley real, with every nut and bolt found in real rides depicted accurately, and perfect peeps looking as human as possible, down to their acme scars, then you best rent some computer time at Pixar. What does wishing it look like Xbox graphics mean? As an Xbox owner myself, I can bet it wouldn't handle this level of detail without some sacrifices. It has a great 3D card, but the processor speed is about what the minumum requirements are for the PC version, and we know minimum requirements usually translates to ...experiencing it at its crapiest.

I think one of the best things for me about this game will be the ability to actually see "dead" areas in my parks. I have a real problem with that especially when my parks become expansive. With this new version coming out, I'll be able to do a quick "fly-thru" and see what's hot or not. Consider it bought in my book!

The game play is why the first two were so successful. As long as it doesn't change, this will be everything we've been looking for. While it does look cartoonish, there is still an incredible amount of detail, and it looks like the peeps will be more than just lemmings roaming around the park. From this shot here, http://www.jeuxvideo.fr/img/newsbig/pc/roller_040416/roller_0404167.jpg, it looks like they will be able to show emotions, like fear and joy. Some are holding their hands up and one kid is covering his eyes.
