New SBNO: Joker's Revenge at SFFT

Thanks for the replies! I think I will make the trip to the park on April 13th then which is unfortunately a Saturday! How busy do you think it will be all things considered? I'm at a convention and as such I'll only have from 3PM until 8PM to visit! I want to get a few rides in but fear large crowds!! Thanks!

When was Jokers Revenge first built? Was it brand new to SFFT? Why would they leave it SBNO for the entire season? Maybe they will start consruction early?

The only problem with SFFT getting an inverted is the fact that SWT just down the road (15 miles I think) has the Great White (standard BTR clone). Since SF Inc likes to clone BTR into their parks, why would they build a BTR at SFFT when SWT has one? Doesn't make business sense does it? I would look for a B&M prone if anything.

just a thought....given the recent departure of KC at PKI, is Shockwave at PKD next?? i know i might get flamed for this, but shockwave, no kidding, is one of my top coasters there. i know its a little rough, but ive just always loved it....it was my first coaster to carry me upside down, back in 1988, and id be really sad to see it go....just thought id throw that question out there:)

Tim (who admits, despite Shockwave being the only example, that he is an avid TOGO fan!! haha:)

ROLLERCOASTERS....BETTER THAN OXYGEN BABY!!!!!!

I think look for an Impulse here. Limited space, is inverted, nothling like it near.. might worry about overheating in the canyon though. Well, there's a SLC in Houston, and 2 B:TR nearby.. who knows? Prone? I hope. 4th deminsion? I can only dream.
WickedTwisted: I don't think they will leave JR SBNO all season. I expect deconstruction will start soon with the plan to convert the queue funhouse into another attraction for FrightFest, as signs in the park indicate. I don't think they would use the building with the track still going through it, so I believe the track will disappear sooner rather than later.

This was just a personal observation, but the Joker's trains where nowhere in sight, and it appeared that some of the themeing off of the fun house had been removed/fallen off. It has already been confirmed that Brutal Planet will be there during Fright Fest. I think it will be coming down fairly soon.

As for what's next. I highly doubt another BTR. I think a prone would be the best fit or like someone said, the impulse. Only thing is, it would need to be closer to the parking lot so that it could get some wind to cool it off. The quarry walls do present a problem for LIMs.

An impulse sounds like a good idea for this park. It seems to me like they are close to having a decent park, since they already have Superman: KC, an S&S drop tower and good flat rides.

Maybe just one more new coaster would make a lot of difference here. Since its not a flagship park, I wouldn't expect anything really big like a 4D, but an Impulse may be a very good idea. They need an invert, and there are no impulses in Texas (or anywhere close.) Sounds like a pretty cool idea.

0-82 in 2.3 seconds! =Wow!

Perhaps Six Flags could make an (gasp) original B&M invert?! I kind of thought Joker's Revenge was sort of a cute ride, but I guess most people hated it, so here's to hoping for something better in the future! SFFT is the most beautiful park I've been to, and a new coaster would really make it even better!
I see no reason why SF couldn't build an original B&M invert. Or hell, even an original Intamin.

If the shoe fits, find another one.

The main reason I don't expect an original invert is because I can't remember a SF park that has gotten an original invert. Also as far as cost goes what is the cost of a smaller 4D. I think that they might be simarlarly priced, and it would allow Six Flags to have one in Texas. They already have two inverts in Texas (B:TR at SFoT and a SLC at AW) and SWT has Great White just down the road. I think that SFFT is the nicest SF park I have been to and a new coaster next year would be great.
