New Paramount Parks Ride Survey

I don't know if anyone really noticed, but the MTV coaster was actually a retheme of Flight of Fear. Look carefully at the artist renderings....
You can't base anything on those renderings. The survey even stressed the lack of authenticity of the sketches.
True. But the second picture of the ride has a VERY familiar look to it...
... because it is probably "would be" another Premier bowl.
Sorry, I was referring mainly to the picture of the ride's queue area...
Neuski... you can see parts of FOF's themeing, such as the distinct overflow queue's shade, the space ship, and the various small theme objects around it.
Yes it does. I see a disk shaped UFO. It looks exactly like a retheme to me. Why would PKI get another Launched spaghetti bowl coaster?

I say that rethemeing FoF is a GREAT idea! It's much better than the generic theme it has now.

...not to MTV. I hate that idea.

Edit: Also consider that the 11 rides were on surveys for different parks. It makes much more sense to consider another park besides PKI or PKD getting a bowl themed to MTV. *cringe*

You know, I hate to agree, but MTV has become one of the worst cable channels. I think that it should be renamed (M)TV.

I only thought of FoF being rethemed to MTV because of the concept art, which they told us to disreguard. It would be cool to see this kind of ride in other parks besides PKI and PKD.

I told "them" that I like the idea of the music, lights, etc., but branding MTV on it was what turned me off. I know it's petty.

Since when did the surveys state that those were attractions specifically for PKI?

There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!

Why would a non-PKI/PKD park build a new ride that looks like a retheme of a clone? I already said that I realize that we aren't supposed to inspect the artwork thoroughly. If this idea isn't a retheme of FoF, than the artwork shows that it was at least contimplated at some point.

That's how I see it.

What is it with all of those walk-through attractions? To me it seems like those would be boring. Even if it was cool, it wouldn't be the kind of thing that i would want to do multiple times. *** Edited 9/9/2004 4:48:03 PM UTC by jw***

Coaster Count: 189
^ Disney wannabe. The repeat issue was my top concern, especially if effects are dropped.
The snow themed dark ride and the car wash dark ride seem like cool family rides.

The spongebob and mtv coasters look good but several of the parks already have mouses, and 2 have flight of fear. Although i do not think a family-oriented park would want tie themselves into MTV.

Did you look at the list of "which Paramount" releases would you like to see in the parks soon"? I REALLY hope they are not considering theming rides to these movies!

Against the Ropes
Italian Job
SpongeBob Squarepants Movie
Alfie
Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life
Stepford Wives
Collateral
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate... Timeline
Dear Deliah
Manchurian Candidate
Trekkies 2
Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star
Mean Girls Twisted
Fighting Temptations
Paycheck
Weather Man
Footloose
Perfect Score
Without a Paddle
Honeymooners
Prince & Me
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
School of Rock

^ Where have you been? PKI is already getting an Italian Job themed ride.

They may have used the FOF artwork for just a general concept drawing. This does not mean the final product will look anything like this.

Why does everyone insist that Paramount would buy another spaghetti bowl? These are just concept artwork like so many have said and certain things just happened to be drawn the same way or influenced from the FOF themed areas perhaps.

As for the movie tie-ins, some of these aren't bad and others are horrendous...

Against the Ropes- Average movie. Good threat for line-jumpers.
Italian Job- Great idea. PKI and PCW getting one already.
SpongeBob Squarepants Movie- Best and most family-oriented tie-in of the bunch. I'm sure we'll see this.
Alfie- Not familiar.
Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life- We've already seen related rides at PKI and PCW.
Stepford Wives- Good movie, but I don't see any potential theme park tie-ins.
Collateral- Excellent movie, but not sure what could be done with it.
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate...- Behind-the-Scenes or Dark ride would work. Timeline- Mediocre movie with poor box office, but would make a more interesting theme than MTV.
Dear Deliah- No idea.
Manchurian Candidate- Great movie, but I don't think they can do anything with it.
Trekkies 2- This is a documentary, so it would be really weird to theme a ride to one. If they go with the general "Star Trek" theme again, I'm all for that.
Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star- Silly movie, not tie-ins.
Mean Girls- Fun movie that I could see them wanting to tie in due to popularity, but it wouldn't work unless it was a comedy show.
Twisted- Not popular or good enough to do anything with.
Fighting Temptations- Bring in Beyonce herself. Keep Cuba in with the Snow Dogs or on a Boat Trip. He hasn't redeemed himself yet.
Paycheck- I love Uma and Ben's not bad here. Tie-ins would be kind of forced unless they themed it like Face/Off or Drop Zone with just the nameor they themed an ATM machine.
Weather Man- Could work in name for something.
Footloose- I like this name for a floorless coaster with the movie and theme song playing in the queue. That's fun.
Perfect Score- I thought they were using this theme to *make families* at Geauga Lake so they'll eventually get enough people to return. ;)
Without a Paddle- If it was something like Dollywood's Wilderness Adventure with the three guys from the movie, it could be interesting...
Honeymooners- Stage show maybe.
Prince & Me- Don't want to talk about it. ;)
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days- Cute movie that was really popular, but I don't know what could work with it.
School of Rock- This would be a fun, fun stage show.

Heres one? Why don't they do some B&M invets to the ORIGINAL PARAMOUNT MOVIE "WINGS"?

Chuck, who would also like to get shot up in a Godfather themed rides or be one of the crooks.

LOL i know they are theming a ride to the Italian Job. The ride concept is ok, but most people will agree, the naming of the ride is lacking.

Why is the name lacking? It's Italian Job Stunt Track. It's supposed to "put you into the movies". That was one of their most popular (and best) movies in the past few years, so why wouldn't they want to do something with it? The "Stunt Track" idea is fun and I think a lot of guests (and enthusiasts) are really excited about it.
