Kyle Says: Diamondback was a lot of fun! Made his first time at Kings Island worth it all!
^ i second that up dawgbyte, i second that.
But for my own thoughts on the "new" additions, i think the day/night mode will be an excellent new addition. As well as the laser tag. It sounds to me like its making you more like the owner of the park, having so much to choose from, having, as well as if you do choose to kill people, concenquinces will arise, like lawsuits, and things like that. This could be the most realistic game yet. We'll see.
Let's hope they will include different lighting styles for our coasters.

This game is definately shaping up to be THE one to contend with this holiday season... topping Doom3 & Half Life 2 (only 'cause RCT3 has a broader appeal)
Of note: "Along certain points of a ride, you can also set up trigger points that will activate animatronic creatures and people" and "The themes change generic shops to reflect the chosen style"
Yes! I now I can watch virtual peeps make out in line and wish that they get a room!
There are finally incorporating arcades into the game. I hope they have DDR...that would be awesome! :)
It looks like this game will have all kind of goodies and the design team have gone above and beyond what has been expected of them. I can't wait for the game's release.
Line jumping is prohibited in my parks, and I enforce it by death! Mwahahahahaha :)

One thing I noticed on this screenshot: there are two ferris wheels, one looks normal, but on the other one, all the cars have wagon wheels on them. It looks like we'll be able theme the individual rides! How sweet is that?
Not entirely true.
There are 5 'themes' in the game. Each ride can be built as one of the 5 themes.
(Which is exactly what the addons did for RCT2 but everybody hated - suddenly in RCT3 it's a good thing)

Everyone hated it because it was an expansion which we had to pay for, while expecting NEW rides. The multiple themes are standard with RCT 3, and actually a good thing if you are building themed areas (to which seperate themes are now part of peep evaluation for continuity of your park).
Not to mention the fact that the peeps will LIKE it when you have consistant themed areas, and not putting a jungle ride next to a winter ride mixed with a western ride.
BUT... I'd only pay for more themed attractions if it includes a slew of new senarios and of course... the selling point... new rides.
1. I don't see how suddenly the themes get better because we move from 2D to 3D. There are less of them now.
2. The "consistent" theme thing is one of my least favorite aspects of the new games. The most creative RCT players (IMO) seem to be the ones who can mix and match and make it look good. In fact some pieces feel better when used in alternate "themes" than the ones they were intended for. All this does is stifle the creativity.
3. I'd pay for new scenarios. I'd pay for new themes. I'd pay for the same rides with new themes. I'd pay for new rides, but assumuing RCT3 comes with an equivalent selection of rides as RCT1&2 (and screenshots show it looks like it will), then what's included would be plenty for some time to come.
Just some observations :)

Don't even get me started on that crap again. The expansions didn't suck because of the rethemed (and technically new) rides, it sucked because of the piss poor scenarios and the extremely out of place, very limited use themes/scenery.
You pretty much asnwer yourself in that line I quote. It was about what you expected - unrealistic expectations always lead to disappointment.
I'm seeing a lot to like about RCT3D, but I'm also seeing a few things that seem to be added that will not (or barely) affect gameplay just because people whined (stupid day/night mode immediately comes to mind). Also gameplay decisions like limiting how I can use scenery and play effectively seem like steps back. They give you sandbox mode for "full freedom" but if you stick the "incorrect" wall piece somewhere guests don't like it.
I guess we'll have to wait and see as it gets closer and closer.
You mentioned "suddently the themes in RCT3 a good thing"; well, yeah, as they are now an included option.
The theme situation is different now then it was for RCT2 - not in terms of what they look like, but how they are incorperated in the game. You now have your standard rides, PLUS the option to use themed versions... in the same package. If RCT2 had those expansion packs included, then I don't think anyone wouldn't have complained about having the ability to switch between a Panda Coaster over a standard one.
Whether mine or anyone else's expections are too high for RCT3 is another story, and we could very well be dissapointed, but that's has nothing to do with with the issue of themes which I was refering to.
