Funny Gator, Viper is my number two out of two LOL
And out of my list of coasters it ranks 122 out of 122.
Back on subject SFWOA was great from what I saw this year. the park was spotless, the employees were just as freindly as those at any other park and the rides and theming are all excellent. The ops were working their butts off but management only allowed them to run 1 train at times.
I am looking forward to going to SFWOA next year as the park really is top notch IMO.
On three trips to SFWOA I had just as good, if not better time then I had at CP this year.
Of course Q-bot helped out ;)

Brent...try out Shockwave at PKD or ME in Vegas....pretty much guaranteed that Viper will leave "the ground floor"....ach!
What SFWoA really *needs* apparently is some serious work on Villain....what a shame, ALREADY! Perhaps the CCI-bashers *did* have a point, flawless design, but it looks like construction *shortcuts* may have decreased longevity. Villain was fantastic when we rode year before last, but most all *reliable reports* say it has fallen considerably. As far as RWB, it's gonna take a miracle IMO to turn that into a woodie to match the airtimers on the other side of the park...

The hyper will come in 2004. It will either be an intamin or a morgan. (wish a b&m). They will fix up the park in 2003. Maybe add a few flat rides to the animal side. They are retracking raging wolf bobs already.
Does anyone think WOA sould remove mind eraser and put a giant inverted boomgerang coaster in that spot? I think it would be better.
.. I think they do need to take a year to straighten things out with the way the park is actually RUN..
You can't blame weather, and post 9/11 tourism for a bad season when your neighbor just an hour away and parks just a little further away had a good year. Customer service people..

I cannot think of anything more awful then Viper LOL
Watch Robb Alvey's video and you'll likely see my reaction.
My other Togo, King Cobra was a thing of beauty Oh well.
To tell ya the truth Viper woudl have been good if not for those awful restraints.

Seriously Brent, ride the back seat of Shockwave, you won't even be able to recall any other Togo's due to head trauma....
bill, STILL surprised he didn't recall it as being THAT terrible...as funny as Psyclone!

Come on now, what do you think of an amusement park that has a permament daily ride closing anouncement sign at the front gate?
I've never seen one that doesn't.

During the season I saw some waterslide pieces in the employee parking lot so maybe the park is getting some water rides.

Maybe there will be a new slide next year.

SFWoA ATL in 2002!
Geez, you'd think some of the people on this site were Bolliger and Mabillard themselves. Why anybody would want a B&M over an Intamin hypercoaster is besides me.
But that's not the point, personally, I feel that Six Flags has pumped too much money into the park too quickly and now I think they are realizing their mistake. Does anybody have a statistic on how much money has been put into SFWOA in the last 5 years? I would bet it is more than any other Six Flags parks maybe even combined.
And what happened? Attendance has dropped, 1-train operations have arose and the park is very worried, which I can't blame them for.
To compete with CP, SFWOA has introduced more unique rides (flyer, floorless, impulse) to compensate for the lack in height. However, the GP is mesmerized by size, it seems like that's all that matters. It's good to hear that things are turning around and I hope they can recover because of how much money was put into the park. It's sad to hear that Villain is aging badly, I guess you should be grateful for Big Dipper which, from what I hear, is one heck of a ride.

The below statement is true.
The above statement is false.
Size doesn't matter. If Holiday World could be a case study for anything, it's that world-class service for your guests will score you the numbers you're looking for.
A friend of mine worked in maintenance up there last summer, and they announced attendance over the radio from time to time. Needless to say, the numbers weren't good, and he estimated a yearly total of 1.6 to 1.9 million. What does that tell you?
The secret to that park's success is not rides. They've got great rides. Now they need to learn to take care of them, keep them open and learn how to run them.

Worlds of Adventure is my home park and I love it dearly. It is a wonderful park, I never really saw the big deal that everyone made about how big of a failure it was. They have 10 good roller coasters and I find 5 of them,(Batman, Superman,Big Dipper, X-Flight, and Villain) to be one of my favorites. Sure they might not be able to compete with Cedar Point, but not many parks can. It is a good park and starting to create a fan base around here and it seems that once people go to SFWOA they come back and thats how a park boosts attendence. They'll be a great park one day. A for the hyper, 2004 sounds right. Cedar Point is unveiling a blockbuster this year, probaly nothing next year, and with CoasterCon coming in 2004, a BM hyper for SFWOA sounds like a good move.
Jeff says they're getting an Intamin

True, but the *TPM guidebook* clearly states that excellent customer service is something that needs to be 100% CONSISTENT, and that it will STILL take awhile to reap the benefits. Even IF ("hugendous" IF here) SFWoA became the HW of SFI, it would still take a few years to dent the attendance of that behemoth park to the west...
HW didn't start treating guests *the right way* just last year, they've BEEN doing it...;)
