Having seen similar markings for Scream I and others in my group were fairly certain they were for a steel coaster, most likely B&M -- although it could very well be from any manufacturer. Whatever it is its going to go over a big chunk of land and existing attractions and pathways.
The nice thing is that even tho SFOG has height limitations due to the airport across I-20 the area on which I assume the station would go is at least 50 feet higher than the entrance plaza. A lift as tall as Great Gasp could have a MUCH larger drop.
Just to clarify I have ZERO inside info on what's happening. Everything I am saying is speculatory based on what I saw at the park.
edited for clarity.

2004- 5 new family attractions
2005- Skull Island
2006- Possible Hyper
People were always saying that SFGAdv has been getting most of the money from Six Flags. SFOG has had some of it to. Now, I still don't think it's right that Six Flags has in a way "ignored" the smaller parks but remember... they are 6 billion dollars in debt.
If this pertains to be true... well.. I might have to get back down their again. :)
i'm not sure what to put here..

If this is true, than people shouldn't say that SFGAdv is spoiled. Lets look at it.2004- 5 new family attractions

SF Inc. is paying for the sins of Time-Warner's ownership and lack of responsibility at the "partnership parks" SFOG & SFOT.
From the 2004 Six Flags Inc. Annual Report (and every other one since the lawsuit settlement):
"In connection with our 1998 acquisition of the former Six Flags, we guaranteed certain obligations relating to Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags Over Texas (the “Partnership Parks”). These obligations continue until 2027, in the case of the Georgia park, and 2028, in the case of the Texas park. Among such obligations are... (ii) minimum capital expenditures at each park during rolling five-year periods based generally on 6% of park revenues..."
So, for over the next 20 years expect capital investments equal to 6% of sales at both of these parks no matter what happens less than bankruptcy. *** Edited 6/6/2005 10:54:13 PM UTC by gamndbndr*** *** Edited 6/6/2005 10:54:41 PM UTC by gamndbndr***
I suspect that 6% will not always be earmarked for new rides. My guess is at times it'll go for general improvements and/or new shows.
You're missing the point, my friend. What about my baby! Did you like it? It was running ehhhh, notsogoooood today. :-/
Oddly, a week later both Cyclone and GASM were running quite rough, with jackhammering at the bottom of many drops. Not sure how a week makes a difference but it did and everyone in the group agreed on the change.

I wouldn't plan on seeing Gasp removed, Looping Starship yes, but not Gasp. It's really quite a landmark.

Intamin Parachute Drop, one of two [three] left in the US [the other being at SFGAdv].
Which is exactly why I would hate to see Great Gasp leave, even for a coaster. It's SFOG's signature. :(
Guess I need to get as many rides on it as possible this season.

You would if you saw the many pink markings all thru Gasp's queue.
;)
Clint-who hopes to get to SFoG in Oct. on my way to Orlando/Tampa for the first time on all counts so I can ride Gasp (a first), and anything else that will be leaving for whatever they get next year that will hopefully be closer to me after I move-b.
Marine World anyone? :)
I hope its a B&M, I'd bet on a B&M actually.
By the way, like gamindbender stated, I know the park can option to use several years worth of funding at once - that resulted in Superman, and hopefully will result in a Hyper.

- Or else someone went on a spree marking up the park with a spray can - "SF Employee found after defacing several areas with spray paint", Atlanta Journal and Constitution.

Nooooooo, They dont have height limitations they have to get permission from the city or something like that to build over 200ft. Found that out while talking to a white collar employee (I guess thats a suitable title) when I was at the park filming...
So they can go really high but they dont want to deal with the trouble of all the legal stuff...
There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!
