Interesting that 8 out of 11 current RMCs built are on the list. I think Joker is the only US one not on the list.

Joker was yet *another* fine RMC product. I think it has more to do with ridership numbers than ride quality....

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Another good, nationwide event might be needed there to give Joker a boost. That always seems to help with ridership numbers.

Joker was the least impressive RMC ride I've been on. It was too short, too inverty, and too compact. I know some people love that, but B:TR is easily my least favorite B&M invert and Joker felt just like it.

Just like B-TR?!

I finally rode a 2nd RMC!

I made a triumphant return to SFNE last week (first visit since 2008 or so, worked there in 2002) and got a couple of laps in on WC which is really easy in the morning - serious crowds don't get back there until later it seems.

Anyway, it's great, obviously, but cannot compare to Storm Chaser in any capacity. I think the big difference for me is that SC has this real elegance and orchestration in the way the elements are paced and spread out. The pacing is *fast* for sure, but beautifully rhythmic and intense at the same time. WC on the other hand really crams humps and bumps and twists into every nook and cranny of the track. It's quite a thrill - I think the coaster I'd most compare to what riding a bucking bronco could be like, but for my personal taste its just not as addictive or compelling as SC.

Hoping I can get Lightning Rod, Twisted Timbers, and Steel Vengeance in 2018!

That summarizes my issues with Joker as well. The pacing felt all wrong. There were places where it felt like RMC stuck a tiny hop or half an element rather than have "normal" track.

Wow, were there a lot of shifts today, and a few substantial moves. Lightning Rod dropped pretty hard down to #9, but hey, it's still in the top ten. Given its ridership count, though, one rating could probably shift its overall rating by a good margin.

It's interesting that 4 of the 5 RMCs in the top 20 dropped at least one spot in the new rankings.

That is a lot of movement. I wonder how many people have to update/enter their track records to account for so much change.

Kinda salty that Alpengeist is now ranked higher than Afterburn, but oh well.

Hey, let's ride (random Intamin coaster). What? It's broken down? I totally didn't expect that.

I like em both.
I kinda don't get the hate (loose term) for Alpengeist. It's huge, it's fast, it's long, it's in a great setting, and it's cute. I had the opportunity to ride it early on, before the trim brake came along, and back then the ending was slammin. Maybe that's what I recollect the most, but I still enjoy it immensely.
That, Afterburn, and Banshee rank up there as my favorites. Oh, then there's Montu, Batman the Ride, and Black Mamba.
Hey! I like em all! 5 stars for everyone!

Edit:
Wait! And there's Dueling Dragons, especially the red side. (Sniff... bye bye...)

That's pretty much an aside when you consider that Nemesis doesn't even crack the top 100... I know that's down to the algorithm and I understand why it works in the way that it does, but it does remove some value from the list.

Hop the pond, folks.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

The audience is 94% from North America, and about half the people here are scared of everyone, so I don't imagine they're in a hurry to go anywhere. And for the record, while I'm planning a tour of Europe, theme parks are not really on my radar.

I didn't find Alpengeist to be that great. I thought the first two inversions were just alright, the middle part to be way too snappy, especially the transition into the MCBR (shudders). The ride wasn't bad, but I think it's the worst coaster not themed to Grover at BGW.

Also, I'd love to go to the UK, at least outside of London where I went a few years ago, to get to Alton Towers. But, you know, airfare is kind of expensive ($1,500 round trip on random July 2018 dates).

Drive to Pittsburgh. Wow Airlines flies to many European cities from here for as little as $69. You have to connect in Iceland, but that's still better than connecting stateside. It's literally cheaper for me to fly to Spain or Germany than it is to go to New York.

Hi

I believe Wow airlines will also fly out of St Louis, Detroit, Cincinnati, and Columbus. It's no-frills, so upcharges abound, but we're seriously considering it for our next trip.
And a day in Reykjavík is not a bad idea, either.

I hear ya, I've done the same in the US. There are a couple of treasures you can drop in though, depending on where you are.

My first and only trip to Europe was a little over two weeks long. I managed three parks, and made no apologies. I couldn't imagine being there and not going somewhere to sample and enjoy my lifelong hobby, too. And the parks I chose were of such high quality and so much fun that I would have kicked myself a million times had I missed them.

But I agree with Rick_UK's advice. Find out what's near to where you'll be and try to squeeze something in. Non-Disney, European parks can be so unique and different from what we have here that it should be worth well worth looking into.

Never heard of Wow Airlines. I can get cheap flights to Pitt. Heck I can drive there easily...
