New coaster at Canada's wonderland. Why?

Hasn't this all been discussed ad nauseam in the news thread and/or the CW 2012 thread?

*re-reads thread*

Oh! Shoot. Sorry - spoke too soon. In this thread, a fan of Michigan's Adventure has introduced a new, poorly conceived, Michigan's-Adventure-should-get-big-new-rides dimension. I now see the difference.

Carry on!

I like the direction this thread is headed. It's plummeting straight into the sar-chasm.

If this was built at another park, would you skip it or not want to ride it because you had already ridden Behemoth?

Of course not.

So why should it matter that it's built at the same park.

With many parks having 8, 10, 12 coasters and the biggest closing in on 20, it's time to get over the idea that two coasters are too similar for one park.

...and why doesn't anyone say this about parks with multiple woodies?

I had the same thought about the multiple wooden coasters...look at Holiday World...

Too much wood is never a bad thing...... ;)

That's something I'll never understand either. The average coaster nerd gets moist over a park that has multiple wood coasters, but God forbid they build two of any steel type.

I refuse to go to Cedar Point until they get rid of one of the three car rides they have.

New coaster at Canada's wonderland. Why?

A: Because Step 3 is profit. Get it?

And don't forget when GAm. installed 2 inverts in the same year (or back to back years?) so they had 3 inverts two of which were shuttles. If DV had been such a reliability problem, all 3 would still be around and popular.

But, did they ever install a wooden coaster themed after a robot? That is the ultimate no-no.

Or Maverick.

But not a hug?

Plenty of hugs for sure! I actually have no idea about the 'Or Maverick' joke. So screw Maverick. But it would be a great ride with lap bars :)

Billy

Because Canada deserves 28 million dollar giga Coasters.

And America deserves Robot dinosaurs...

I look forward to your letters ;) (any craig ferguson fans)

In all seriousness CW have better attendence on a tuesday while school is in then MiA has on the 4th of July. That could be a start of the reasoning.

Maverick does have lap bars. And decorative shoulder straps.

^Got me there Jeff :)

I wish those other things were only decorative. They hurt like hell. Almost every single picture I have seen of Maverick - you can see someone trying to protect themselves from them, somehow.

Thanks for all the comments, but I just wanted to clear a few things up. First of all, I never said that MA should get the hyper coaster, I was just saying they should spread the love to all the parks, and that Michigan's adventure receives the least attention, while the newer parks like Canada's Wonderland, and Kings Island have been getting more new attractions then any parks in the Cedar Fair chain. I just commented on the Wonderland coaster, because I think its kind of Dumb to have two hypers, just like the two inverted coasters at La Ronde.

Someone also commented on the exciting flats at MA. Where? I wouldn't call a yo-yo, Thunderbolt, Falling Star, scrambler, trabant, and a tilt-a-whirl exciting flats. You can find the same rides at your local carnival. Those rides have been there for close to 30 years. The only new rides the par has added in 11 years are Funnel of Fear, Grand Rapids, and Thunderhawk. Oh, and the bumper boats and the beach party thing if you want to call those rides. The rest is all portable games and carts, and the Coasters Cafe. Nothing else.

So I am not saying they should get a hyper coaster, any decent thrill ride would be nice. So, when I see this other park getting two hyper coasters in less then 5 years, I'm not really mad, it's more of being sad. Why not throw some love to MA. The only thing that constantly changes is the high prices. like $9.00 for a smoothy.

Choose the best answer:

Michigan's Adventure needs:
a) a hotel
b) more roller coasters
c) trees
d) hotel
e) Maverick

They were talking about building a hotel with an indoor water park, to keep people coming year round, but, with the low attendance and other hotel/parks in the area, I think they decided to scrap it. However, an RV park was built across the street from MA, but, no idea how that is doing.

Also, they have actually been doing a good job adding trees to the park, and the landscaping is a million times better than it was under the old owners. But, adding a major attraction or 2 would certainly be welcome. An air conditioned 3D or 4D theater would be very nice!
